The thing about Kelly and the Bellas that the article brings up is that they've hit blocks in their development. We've brought that up about Kelly a lot, here, how she's been there for five years so she should be a lot further along than she is. That's something that's brought up a lot with Chyna, how the Chyna of 2001 had a lot of cosmetic surgery, but that was the only thing that distinguished her from the Chyna of 1997. Her in ring and mic skills didn't improve one bit.
You look at the classic 2000-06 group, and you notice how they evolved. Trish is the most obvious example, always evolving, always getting better and better, the Total Package. And, as the article brings up, she didn't wait for the wrtiers, but made things happen, herself. I notice Melina is now taking that kind of initiative, and hope she keeps it up.
But, that was also true of the others. Molly, when she got there, was mainly a "spot monkey", always doing those flips that the crowds loved but covered a lack of much technical skill. She developed into a fantastic technical chain wrestler. Same with Jazz, who came in as a brawler with power moves and developed into a chain wrestling submission specialist. Even Lita, who fell behind her contemporaries when she was out with that neck injury for so long, came a long way from where she started. Not only did her in ring skills improve over the years, but she was terrible on the mic in the beginning.
Beth, on the other hand, is a lot better than when she first appeared on Raw about the same time Kelly debuted.
