Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Sarah Hagan (she played Potential Slayer Amanda during the show’s final season) has booked a recurring role on 90210, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.

Hagan will play Alana, one of Naomi’s new sorority sisters at California University. The character is described as a born leader who proudly flaunts her extensive vocabulary and book smarts.

The actress — fondly remembered by Freaks and Geeks fans as Linda Cardellini’s straight arrow BFF Millie — joins a 90210 guest cast that also includes Justin Deeley as a love interest for Naomi and CSI: Miami‘s Megalyn Echikunwoke as Naomi’s CU nemesis.

90210 kicks off its fourth season on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Brandy’s heading for the Hills!

The actress-singer-reality star is joining 90210 for a major Season 4 arc, TVLine has learned exclusively.

She’ll play Marissa Jackson-Lewis, a charismatic young politician running for congress in California against Teddy’s (Trevor Donovan) conservative uncle. “She’s a cross between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama,” notes a source close to the show. “She’s inspirational but with a drive to get the job done.” To that end, Marissa hires Silver (Jessica Stroup) to create a video campaign to reach the youth vote.

Brandy, who earlier this year guest-starred in four episodes of Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva, is slated to make her 90210 debut in October.

90210 returns Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 9/8 c.

Kellie Pickler is set to make her acting debut on 90210 this fall, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The American Idol alum will play Sally, the country-singing cousin of local cowboy Austin (Justin Deeley).

The role shouldn’t be much of a stretch for Pickler, who has had four songs on Billboard‘s Hot Country chart. In fact, she will perform one of those singles, “Tough,” during the episode.

Pickler is not the sole singer appearing on the new season of 90210, debuting Sept. 13. As TVLine previously reported, Brandy has been tapped for a major Season 4 arc. Other new additions include Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Sarah Hagan, CSI: Miami‘s Megalyn Echikunwoke and Privileged‘s Kristina Apgar.
