Glee Season 3 Newsies

Since by now half of the Cheerios are members of New Directions, Glee is enrolling a new crop of Mean Girls! Who’s who?

* Sugar is… well, she’s basically RHNJ’s Danielle Staub, only in high school. Affluent, self-confident and a godawful singer.

* Sheila, a modern-day Joan Jett, actually has her own pack of Blackhearts and the tats to go with ’em.

But that’s not all. As production on Season 3 gets underway next week, I’m hearing that the show is also on the lookout for a new linebacker, a gigantosaur by the name of Bubba. (What did you expect, a Kevin?) As previously revealed at Comic-Con, Bubba will introduced as Mercedes’ new beau, whom she started dating over the summer.

Also, sixtysomething actresses will be passing through to audition for the role of Nancy Bletheim, a geometry teacher who thinks the arts are for… well, anywhere but in school.

Glee has found Mercedes’ rebound guy.

LaMarcus Tinker — best known for his role as Luke’s mild-mannered BFF Dallas on Friday Night Lights — is joining the cast as Marcus, a massive lineman for the McKinley Titans and a love interest for Amber Riley’s lovelorn diva.


The character, formerly known as “Bubba” on casting breakdowns, will presumably fill the hole in Mercedes’ heart left by Sam (the departing Chord Overstreet).

Exec producer Brad Falchuk likened the Mercedes/Marcus relationship to Cuba Gooding Jr. and his wife in Jerry Maguire. “He’s this Big Bubba kind of guy and he encourages her to want more for herself,” he said at Comic-Con last month. “That drives her arc into the next half of the season.”

Tinker also recurred on Cougar Town last season as Travis’ college roommate.

Another fresh face will be turning up in the halls of McKinley High when Glee returns this fall.

American Dreams alum Vanessa Lengies is joining the Fox hit’s Season 3 cast in the recurring role of Sugar, a new student who is described as a cross between Molly Shannon and a New Jersey Housewife.

Sugar was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and a tin ear. Basically, she can’t carry a tune to save her life, but I’m guessing that won’t stop her from auditioning for a spot in New Directions.

The casting of Lengies, who currently plays Nurse Kelly Epson on TNT’s HawthoRNe, comes just hours after Friday Night Lights‘ LaMarcus Tinker was tapped to recur as a new love interest for Amber Riley’s Mercedes.

Season 2 Finale they teased a possible storyline between them. But it will be cut short since Chord will be leaving the show.

right after Kurt and Blaine were talking about Nationals, Blaine told Kurt I love you and kurt said it back and then Sam and Mercedes walked in, they went to make an order and the camera did a close up of them holding hands after they asked each other if blaine and kurt suspected anything

I don't remember any of that happening. DAMN! What all did I miss. Now I have to go watch Glee..
