Gail an awesome carrier?

Looking at some of the matches the weaker girl's have had with her, would you say she also has great ability at carrying the weaker divas and making the match good?

If I wasn't a fan of wrestling, I'd have thought Kelly was equal to Gail not based on ability, but also how the match flowed, thanks to Gail allowing Kelly to look strong when needed.

Considering Maryse's talent and work ethic had dropped so much, this match proved she still had something in her and she looked really good.

Oh also, you need to learn the term "carry someone in a match"


I don't see how Gail carried Maryse, Maryse was pretty much doing what needed to be done.

The term "carried her in a match" is when the one wrestler is clearly setting up all the spots, setting up her opponent for every upcoming move.

Maryse knew where she needed to be, when she had to be there.

Gail Kim probably did a good job of selling and bumping, but she wasn't carrying the match.

People often mistake that term a lot.

All of Maryse's offence-
Gail jumps through ropes so Maryse can reverse and slam her head into turnbuckle.
Gail jumps on top rope so Maryse can push her legs off
Gail goes for Eat Defeat so Maryse could reverse and slam her down, setting up for DDT
Gail goes high risk and onto Maryse's shoulders so that Maryse could reverse and win with the DDT

Apart from some common back and forth action, Gail was setting up the majority of the high risk spots, allowing Maryse to capitalise on them. We always say Beth carries a match for her sheer power, and ability to dominate and work most of the match with the other opponent capitalising. Gail being a high flyer is carrying in a different way, setting up these high risk spots for Maryse to capitalise on. Gail threw herself through the ropes and hard onto the floor in their 1st SD encounter to make Maryse look good, as another single example. The amount of times Gail carried Alicia too, setting up these high spots for Alicia to reverse and capitalise on.

Carrying doesn't necessarily have to mean dominating an opponent, such as how Beth would carry a match. It can mean getting dominated as well, if the opponent is setting up the majority of the spots.

And TBH I don't think Maryse knew what she was doing half the time. Take the springboard crossbody bump for example. Gail made it nearly an obvious gimme that Maryse was going to throw her off because Maryse wasn't in the spot when she needed to be. Just like Gail had to stall when she was on the apron so Maryse could reverse and send her into the turnbuckle.

She can carry me a sandwich if that counts. xD
