Walking Dead Gets Expanded Premiere; Season Split in Two

AMC have announced The Walking Dead will get an expanded, 90-minute season premiere. The Season 2 premiere airs Sunday, October 16th on AMC at 9pm. Taking a page from a lot of other cable series of late, they've also revealed the season will air in two halves. The first seven episodes will air over consecutive weeks through October and November. The show will then take a break through December and January, and episodes eight through thirteen will begin airing on February 12th at 9pm.

It's also expected that Breaking Bad's recently announced fifth and final season – with an expanded 16 episode order – will air over two years.

What's the point in airing so many episodes, then taking a 3 month rest?

This is one of the reasons I'll never fully invest in this show. Hell, how long has it even been since season 1 ended? Year +? Fuck that shit.

Yeah I really dislike how they take Dec/Jan off.

You have to wait way too long.

I just want it to come back and come back for a long time.
