| Subject: Will Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Foo Fighters, and Red Hot Chili Peppers be Snubbed by Grammys? Tue 22 Nov 2011, 10:00 pm | |

While Grammy voters have showered multiple trophies on artists over the years, they can be very fickle. Just ask Norah Jones. She’s won nine Grammys including five for her record breaking debut in 2002. However, her fourth studio album "The Fall" yielded only one bid in 2010 -- Best Female Pop Performance -- which she lost. Several other one-time industry favorites are hoping for more Grammy love this year but could get the cold shoulder.
Since 2000, Beyonce has won 16 Grammys and amassed more nominations than any other artist of her generation. Her 2008 album, “I Am…Sasha Fierce,” won her a record-breaking six Grammys. But her follow-up album, “4,” hasn’t produced any hits and struggled to even go platinum. Voters may relegate her to a couple of R&B categories or they may snub her altogether.
Lil Wayne won four Grammys and was nominated for Album of the Year for his 2008 breakthrough, “Tha Carter III.” That album sold over one million copies in its first week of release. Wayne’s new studio album, “Tha Carter IV,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with over 964,000 copies sold, but the singles from the album have stalled. Voters may well snub him in the general field, relegating him to one or two rap races.
Foo Fighters have won six Grammys over the past 15 years and their last disc finally brought them Record and Album of the Year nominations. But their latest album, “Wasting Light,” hasn’t been nearly as successful as their past efforts. Expect them to only get obligatory nominations in the rock races unless voters need a rock act to take up space in the General Field.
Red Hot Chili Peppers have taken home seven Grammys during their nearly three-decade career. They came close to winning Album of the Year for their 2006 effort, “Stadium Arcadium,” but their new album, “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,” flopped. The Peppers may be snubbed entirely for this new effort.---------------------------------------So what do you think of these four and their Grammy chances? Are you a fan of them? What about their recent work? | |

| I wouldn't be surprised if all 4 got snubbed. I liked some of their earlier stuff. | |

| I don't see any of them getting into the top 3 categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year but I do see most of them getting some nominations in the lower categories for their fields [although winning may be hard]. | |
