| Subject: Mattel WWE figures commanding big bucks on secondary market! Fri 02 Dec 2011, 1:07 am | |
| In Brief: Figures of Kelly Kelly, Mark Henry, and Hornswoggle are among the most valuable from Mattel’s two-year-old line of WWE figures.Mattel’s line of WWE figures has only been on the market for two years, but some of the figures are already commanding secondary market prices that are comparable to much older wrestling figures.
Of the figures released so far, none is hotter than the Kelly Kelly figure from 2010. Issued in the sixth series of basic figures, the figure carried an original retail price of $7.99-9.99. Today, if you’re hoping to pick one up on the secondary market, you can expect to pay anywhere from $60-100; a loose figure will cost you $30-40. A special chase version of the figure, which came with a limited edition, serial-numbered gold belt, sometimes sells as high as $130.Two figures of current World Champion Mark Henry from 2010 also have become extremely popular. The basic Mark Henry figure from Series 9 is a tough one to find. This particular series was released in late 2010, and for whatever reason, didn’t appear on retail store shelves in quite the volume of previous series. The figure, which originally sold for $7.99-9.99, now commands as much as $40-50 on the secondary market. Henry’s Elite figure from Series 5 originally sold for $15.99; today, that figure sells for about $35-40.Mattel’s seventh series of Elite figures centered around D-Generation X, and two of those figures have become highly collectible. The Hornswoggle figure – which comes complete with a DX t-shirt and Army helmet, along with a miniature ladder – today sells for around $40-50. Likewise, the Shawn Michaels DX figure from this series today sells for $35-40. When these figures were released in late 2010, the retail price was $15.99.The R-Truth Elite figure from Series 2 was released in early 2010 at a suggested retail price of $15.99. It wasn’t a particularly hot figure, but today it sells for as much as $40.New figures, high pricesWhile you probably won’t find any of the previously mentioned figures at your local Walmart or Target anytime soon, some current releases are commanding big bucks on the secondary market as well. Before forking a hefty chunk of change, be sure to check your local retail stores first. Also, if you’re looking for a few extra bucks for the holidays, you might be able to pick some of these up and sell them for two to three times their retail price on the secondary market. There’s a good chance you can walk into a local retail store and find a Tyson Kidd Mattel Elite Series 7 figure for $15.99 or less. Surprisingly, this figure has been selling for upwards of $35 on the secondary market recently. The Bret Hart Defining Moments figure, which was profiled in this column’s action figure spotlight a couple weeks back, has been a favorite among collectors. If you can find one at a retail store, it will cost you around $22.99. Online, the figure sells for $35-50.The Zack Ryder Elite Series 9 figure, released in the spring, is still a hot item. Some stores are still offering these for sale for $15.99. If you’re going to buy one online, expect to pay around $35.
A few figures from the recent Elite Series 11 and 12 are commanding high prices online, probably because they’re very new and many collectors haven’t been able to find them locally. The C.M. Punk Elite figure from Series 11 comes with a New Nexus t-shirt and armband, and is the first figure to closely resemble the WWE champion’s current look. In stores, it sells for $15.99; online you can expect to pay around $40.Elite Series 12 includes figures of Alberto Del Rio and Daniel Bryan that are selling especially well. Both figures carry a suggested retail price of $15.99; on the secondary market, Bryan sells for about $30-35, while Del Rio commands slightly more, $35-40.If you’re looking for some cool wrestling figures this holiday season, keep an eye on your local stores. As retailers restock shelves, there is no telling what may pop up.

| Idk..
Way too much for any of those figures.
It's bad enough the retail price is $10-25 for certain figures [usually $10-$18] but anything above $30 is just like wtf I can buy something way better..
