Angelina Jolie Sued For Allegedly Stealing the Plot of Her New Movie

More controversy for Angelina Jolie's directorial debut: A Croatian journalist is reportedly suing her for stealing the plot of 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' from his 2007 novel. According to RadarOnline.com, James J. Braddock (aka Josip J. Knezevic) says that Jolie -- who wrote and directed the film -- stole the idea from his book, 'The Soul Shattering.' He's even set up a website detailing his beef with Jolie. Braddock writes on his site, "I do believe that Ms. Jolie used (copied, stole) crucial elements of my book" and that he even tried to visit the set of her film in Budapest to voice his concerns.

'In the Land of Blood and Honey' is about a Muslim woman who falls in love with a Serbian soldier during the Bosnian War, despite his having raped her.

Braddock alleges on his site, "Her idea is nothing but a doctored version of my novel ... out of the thousands of stories about the [Bosnian War] camps, Ms. Jolie's movie has the same basis as my novel. It is in no way a coincidence."

Radar reports that Braddock has also named GK Films, the L.A.-based production company which financed and is releasing the film, in the lawsuit. He's asking for a jury trial and for the court to award him damages.

'In the Land of Blood and Honey' 'opens Dec. 23.
