Pro Wrestling Syndicate review - “Vendetta” (5/8/10) Empty
PostSubject: Pro Wrestling Syndicate review - “Vendetta” (5/8/10)   Pro Wrestling Syndicate review - “Vendetta” (5/8/10) EmptyThu 15 Dec 2011, 3:58 am

Ok, this is my first review of the company known as Pro Wrestling
Syndicate, or PWS and is located primarily in the Northeast of the US.
Today, i will be reviewing 2 shows i recently downloaded and watched all
the way through, starting with “Vendetta”.

It starts out with
The Pope coming out as guest commish and cutting a promo which, wasnt
his best work but it was good nonetheless. It lead to someone named
Kevin Matthews coming out and talking trash to the Pope, which he
responded with some funny banter. Out comes Matthews partner, with
Velvet Sky, posing as the Iron Sheik. Ill be honest here, he did a
pretty good impression of the Sheik and i chuckled. This war of words
leads to Butterbean…yes..Butterbean coming out with the PWS
Championship. The first match right away is for the PWS title.

PWS Heavyweight Championship Match: Butterbean (c) vs Kevin Matthews

This
match..i kid you not..was 5 seconds long. Not only was it a World title
match, but why on earth would you have fucking BUTTERBEAN of all people
carry around your top championship? Not to mention his title defense
lasted 5 fucking seconds because Kevin Matthews used what appear to be
brass knuckles to win the title.

Winner: Kevin Matthews via Pinfall

My
Rating: .5/5. Just a horrible way to kick off the card, the champion
was buried quicker than Alicia Fox was when she lost to Melina.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan w/Greg “The Hammer” Valentine vs Doink the Clown

This
bored me to tears, words can not even describe how boring this match
was. They basically locked up for a few minutes, did a few bumps then
Doink trashed Hacksaw for 15 minutes. Towards the end of the match, it
got heated as Doink started to challenge Duggan to a fight out in the
crowd but it was thrown out as a double countout seeing Hacksaw walked
back to the entrance staring at the Clown. The only upside, was having
Doink say “Yeah, im from the USA too” when Hacksaw did his chant.

Result: Double Countout

My Rating: 0/5

PWS
NY State Championship Match: The Dynamic Sensation vs Sonjay Dutt vs
Daivari vs Ken Doane vs Grim Reefer vs Danny Demanto vs Fala

Basic
stuff with this match, The Pope put over Doane hard and throughout the
match they kept referring to him as a former WWE superstar, so i guess
thats the only way he can get noticed nowadays, which is pretty sad.

Fala
is pretty much a nobody version of Rikishi, with his manager Ox Baker.
Highlight of the match was when Demanto did a 20 foot balcony dive onto
Sensation through a table. Now i wouldnt really complain about how this
ended, but it was for a title and Sensation had to be stretchered out.

Result: No Contest

My Rating: 3/5, it was an ok match but it had a bad finish and it ruined it for me.

Desmond Wolfe vs “The Assassin” Dan Maff

First
and foremost, Maff is a beast. If anyone has never seen his work, i
seriously recommend it. He’s very agile for a big man and could easily
hang with someone from WWE or TNA right now. Wolfe as always looked
impressive and played the face very well. Wolfe ended up winning via a
rollup.

Winner: Desmond Wolfe

My Rating: 4/5

Portia Perez vs Alexxis Nevaeh

This…THIS…is
what womens wrestling SHOULD be. This was a pretty good match that went
at least 8 minutes, and i facepalmed at the commentators saying
Portia’s extra strength was possibly based on her hormones.
Like..really? You’re honestly going to say she’s powerful because she’s
on her period? I do wanna point out, Portia is a cutie and i look
forward to seeing her matches again.

Winner: Portia Perez

My Rating: 4.5/5

AJ Styles vs Paul Burchill

Burchill
can go, dont care what anyone says. WWE really dropped the ball outta
him and AJ chastized the crowd for cheering him throughout the match.
Back and forth with AJ working on Burchill’s leg throughout most of the
match, which lead to AJ picking up the win via submission. Pope pitched
hard for Burchill to be signed by a major company.

Winner: AJ Styles

My Rating: 5/5, impressive outing from both guys.

Amazing Red & Bandido Jr. vs Generation Me

Again,
more amazing matwork from Red, no pun intended. This kid has so much
untapped potential, its borderline criminal for him not to be able to
showcase his talents in TNA or WWE. The Bucks, are an amazing team, but
again, another team that has a lot of talent, no one wants to give them a
chance. Bandido…need to see more.

Winners: Amazing Red & Bandido Jr.

My Rating: 5/5

Jerry Lynn vs Vampiro

Man,
the age really showed in this match. Lynn can still go somewhat, but
Vampiro is slow and uninspired, i guess thats why AAA let him leave. It
ended up being a hardcore brawl, which wasnt a very good one and it
ended up with Lynn having his mouth busted open badly. Lynn picked up
the win, but the jackasses Matthews and Demanto tried recruiting Lynn,
he said no and Lynn and Vampiro beat up the morons, followed by the same
ol “ive wrestled with this injury and that injury” speech. We get it,
you guys are tough, but save it. It pretty much buried these 2 kids as i
interpreted it as “we arent tough, you arent so go away.”

Winner: Jerry Lynn

My Rating: 2/5

PWS Tag Team Championship Match - The Urban Legends (c) vs The BQE vs The Outlaws From Hell vs Buckout Road Ballers

Ended
up being a hardcore match, the champions didnt even have their title
belts so if they lost, nothing of value was gained. It was all over the
place, and the announcers whined constantly. Boring.

Winners: The Urban Legends

My Rating: 2/5

Well that concludes part 1 of my 2 show review, here are my pros and cons from the show.

Pros: Wolfe/Maff, Styles/Burchill, Perez/Nevaeh, Red/Bandido vs Gen Me

Cons: Horrible finishes to both singles title matches, bad announcing
