10 Words People Need to Stop Misspelling!

Bless this thread, for these mistakes drive me nuts! I can't tell you how many times I stopped an argument to correct someone when they said to me, "Your a bitch!"

My English instructor in the Spring wrote Weird and Wierd on the board and asked us all which was the correct spelling and I blurted out Weird but she said it was wrong til someone proved her wrong by looking in the dictionary. Wonderful instructor, eh?

Reminds me of the time then-VP Dan Quayle forced a kid to spell Potato "Potatoe".

I really hate the it's and its. I never knew till this day which to use to I just improvised lol. I always guessed it's was a possessive and its going to be raining was right, guess I had opposite lol.

altar- alter (how many actually use altar to describe a church thingy?)
fourth- forth
I think the hardest one to differentiate between is foward and foreward.


Just read that there are over 400 of homophobes, half of the words I dont even know:

I used to struggle a little with effect and affect, but not anymore.

The It's vs Its tip is helpful. I'll have to remember that.

I'm always trying to improve my grammar and vocabulary.
