WWE "World Tour" house show results January 21, 2012 Fargo, N.D. Report by Cody & Joel, PWTorch readers
(1) Alex Riley beat Ryback (Skip Sheffield) via small package. Ryback dominated most of the match.
(2) Kelly Kelly & Eve beat Divas of Destruction (Divas champion Beth Phoenix & Natalya) after Kelly scored with the K2 on Natalya.
(3) R-Truth beat U.S. champion Jack Swagger in a non-title match. Truth won with Lil' Jimmy. He thought he won the U.S. Title, but David Otunga came out and said it was non-title. Great heat.
(4) IC champion Cody Rhodes beat Alex Riley in a non-title match. Before the match, Rhodes came out and said he broke Ted DiBiase's hand last night in Winnipeg. Rhodes then offered a title shot to Riley if he were to win. Riley hit his lifting DDT finisher, but Rhodes kicked out. He then hit Cross Rhodes for the win.
(5) WWE tag champions Epico & Primo beat Kofi Kingston & Mason Ryan to retain the Tag Titles.
(6) Sheamus beat Wade Barrett via Brogue Kick. Good, physical match.
(7) Big Show beat World Hvt. champion Daniel Bryan via DQ; Bryan retained the World Title. Mark Henry was a no-show for an advertised three-way match, so it was a regular singles match. Show was going for the win, but Bryan held onto the title after outside interference from Wade Barrett and David Otunga caused the DQ. Barrett and Otunga were then double-chokeslammed. Bryan seems to be slowly turning heel here.
(8) WWE champion C.M. Punk beat The Miz in a steel cage match to retain the WWE Title. Great main event with Miz hitting the Skullcrushing Finale, but Punk kicked out. Punk then gave Miz the GTS for the win. The match was a good 20-25 minutes. | |
