Video Games based on Horror Franchises Empty
PostSubject: Video Games based on Horror Franchises   Video Games based on Horror Franchises EmptyTue 07 Feb 2012, 7:16 pm

We've seen the transition of a horror game making the leap to the big
screen (Doom, Alone in the Dark, Resident Evil etc), but not many horror
films make the leap to the major consoles (yes, i included the Wii,
shoot me). The only current-gen game based on a franchise to my
knowledge, is Saw...but back in the day there was A Nightmare on Elm
Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th among others. Would you want to see
horror games based on villains like the ones in those movies? If so,
what kind of game would you like them to be, 3rd person, 1st person etc?

I dunno. Based on how crap the saw game was, I don't think it would work. They can capture the gruesome effects, but I don't think games are that scary anymore/can be the way they are going. Its not like the old games Teary Eyed

Honestly, I'd love to play a Scream game where you're the killer and the camera is like... his face. (Idk how to call that.)

Each level you have more people in a certain area. You have to kill them, but try not to be killed by the people.

That would be fun.

I don't think a slasher movie whould make a good videogame, because what you do in it, their is only one enemy. I think the only way it could work is if they make it a adventure game like Heavy Rain or Indigo Prophicey. The horror movie I whould like to turn into a action/horror game is The Desent. It has all thing needed to make a good game (it could be like tomb raider with hand2hand combat in a horror setting).

P.S. the best horror game movies were Silent Hill and House of the Dead. (and Dead Rising aka Dawn of the Dead lol! )

I think a game which lets the player be the killer would be pretty cool I guess.

It would probably not be a liked game by parents or people who feel violent video games create violence in people who watch them but again for mindless playing I would not have an issue with it.

If Grand Theft Auto can make millions, why can't a serial killer game? In GTA you can basically kill, blow up cars join the mafia and break any rule possible lol, if thats not a bad influence I dunno what is.

I'd just like a dam game where if you die you DIE! You don't go to a checkpoint, you DIE! And have to start again lol.

^ I agree it would not even be the worst game out there but I could just see people hating on it..

And I think the game Dark Souls has a mode where if you die you die for reals.

I could be wrong but imo if that is true it is really hard and I would not want that to happen. Video Games based on Horror Franchises 478927
