Caribbean Beatz

Thought i'd dedicate a thread to, well music i grew up listening too. It's completely different from what most of yu all might be used to.

I grew up in a VERY diverse environment with SOO many different influences, from beats and melodies from african roots to latin influenced music.....i'm completely open and nice enough to share this whole experience with you all.

This is Destra.....a T&T Native....for those who don't know T&T is Trinidad & Tobago, she was such a huge artist in the Caribbean area few years back with her Carnival songs heard all over the Caribbean.

This one is probably a bit closer to home to me, native tongue, the melody's i'm used to.

SO christmas time, when you all are singing about snow and presents.....our songs are a bit energetic and since have no snow, we usually sing about.....Alegria (happiness), Famia(Family), Harmonia (Harmony) and much much more about the joys of family and the holidays.

I wish you all could understand this one. It is a personal fave of mine. One i hold close to my heart. It's a song dedicated to "Wela" which in our native tongue is "grandmother". They basically are singing how they are dedicating a song to their grandmother, it brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear it honestly. it's really one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
