Trish vs Lita Makes Top 20 in Greatest Raw Matches Countdown [# 16]!

WWE has ranked the epic main event battle between Trish Stratus and Lita on the December 6th, 2004 episode of Raw as one of the greatest matches in Raw history.

Ahead of the flagship show’s 1000th episode on July 23rd, WWE.com has been counting down the best 50 matches on Monday Night Raw — and Trish and Lita have ranked at a very respectable #16.

In one of the few instances where Divas were featured in the main event of Raw, Trish Stratus and Lita shined like true stars. Their rivalry couldn't have been any more personal, as Trish repeatedly tried to humiliate Lita by poking fun at her pregnancy and relationship with Kane. One month after getting disqualified for breaking Trish's nose with a steel chair at Survivor Series, Lita got another opportunity to capture the Women's Championship and teach Trish a lesson.

Aside from the red-hot rivalry, what made this clash so outstanding were the daring maneuvers that shattered the mold of Divas matches. From a high-risk dive through the ropes to a back-breaking superplex, Lita electrified the crowd by venturing outside of the norm throughout the match. In a thrilling finish, Lita countered a Stratusfaction attempt and hit a reverse Twist of Fate, followed by a mighty moonsault off the top rope to end Trish's 176-day title reign.

Trish & Lita were the queens of Raw main events, 6 times each, 3 with each other.

Steph had 3. Beth and, of all people, Maria, have had 1, each.

AJ is at 2 and counting, and Eve just had her first.

Yeah that is really cool to know how many they each had.

I love this match so much!

Lita winning was amazing to see.

That was something we worked out in the discucssion of tonight's show over at DD. Someone was wondering how many Divas had main evented Raw, and I think that, between us, we got them all.

Of course, that's not counting the times a match with Divas was the last match on Raw, but the main event was an interview or promo or some such. An example of that would be the Gail vs Molly match for the Women's Championship I posted earlier in the Vault, where it was the last match, but the main event was Kane setting JR on fire.
