A PROFESSIONAL Leeds wrestler who has been signed by the world-famous WWE was arrested following a bar-room bust-up.
Andre Tyson, who competes under the name MVK Valkabious, admitted assaulting a man following the incident at Norman bar on Call Lane in Leeds city centre in the early hours of Sunday.
The 6ft 2in-tall, 17.5 stone 21-year-old was signed earlier this year to a developmental deal by WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).
It is not clear if the offence, which means he now has a criminal record, will affect the deal
The Yorkshire Evening Post understands trouble started when a scuffle broke out in one of the booths at the back of the bar.
Tyson, from Harehills, was asked to leave but resisted the security staff who tried to have him removed.
Police, who were already patrolling the street, arrested Tyson and another man, initially on suspicion of affray.
Tyson eventually admitted assault and was given a caution.
Matthew Cliff, from Norman bar, said: “There was a bit of trouble and he got asked to leave.
“The police arrested him and spoke to him. There were lots of police already on the street so it probably looked a lot worse than it was.
“I heard a rumour that he was a wrestler.”
According to his website, Tyson made his debut in 2007 and wrestles all over England and Scotland.
The site says: “You’re lookin’ at a future WWE superstar.”
The developmental deal means Tyson is due to travel to the States, where he will be given a trial to determine if he can make the grade in WWE.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed officers were called to a fight at Norman bar shortly after 1.10am on Sunday.
He said: “Two men, aged 21 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of affray. The 21-year-old received a formal caution for assault and the 25-year-old was released without charge.”
