Smackdown Discussion - August 24th

So below we have Divas' Champion Layla vs Alicia Fox, with #1 Contender Kaitlyn on commentary and an appearance from Booker T's assistant Eve Torres too.


Personally I wasn't a big fan of the match. There were some good spots there but I felt they tried to cram too much into a short time slot. Alicia and Layla have never really worked that well together in the past. I did like that Layla remembered to sell the leg at the end. But while the match wasn't great, the build up does leave a lot open.

We read in the spoilers that Eve was involved, implying she will be part of this feud in some way. But what the spoilers didn't pick up was Natalya. Michael Cole on commentary drew special attention to what Natalya has been saying to Kaitlyn on Twitter. I know we always get our hopes up for Natalya actually being used but this definitely seems like something to take note of. Cole and Kaitlyn went back and forth about Natalya which suggests she might be getting involved in some way. Plus I noticed on Twitter lately her and Eve have suddenly been acting all chummy with each other. Perhaps Eve herself won't be a player in this feud but rather using her position as assistant to get Natalya involved. Either way they're gonna keep us guessing until Monday night
