We first reported a few weeks back that WWE was working on a major deal with Hulu. According to The Wrestling Observer, this deal was different from the Hulu Plus deal that was announced a few days ago. According to the newsletter, Vince McMahon apparently changed his mind and the original idea was overhauled. The original deal would have been something similar to a soft-launch for the WWE Network with shows like Legends House and older archival footage also being featured.

There were people within WWE very pessimistic about the WWE Network after the Hulu Plus deal was announced. There's a feeling from some that WWE should have gone full-on with Hulu and backed away from trying to create their own Network.

No word yet on how many millions of dollars the new Hulu Plus deal is worth to WWE, but the original deal that was overhauled would have brought them between $15 million and $20 million annually.
