WWE announced the categories for its annual Slammy Awards via its website last night, which is all well and good, except fans of the WWE Divas, and well, the Divas themselves, seem to have been shut out of the equation.
For the first time since the Slammys returned to WWE as a permanent end of year fixture in 2008, there is no award on the list recognizing the Divas.
WWE had already gutted the division of its annual Diva of the Year award, last year replacing it with a ‘Divalicious Moment of the Year’ nod instead.
This year, it seems the Divas will be further relegated, likely to flood the category for the less prestigious ‘Kiss of the Year’, and we can only hope one or two makes it into the ‘Breakout Star’ category.
The Slammy Awards episode of Raw airs next Monday at 8pm.
