JR Confirms That WWE Signs Billy Gunn as NXT Trainer

- There are reports that WWE has signed former DX member Billy Gunn (Kip Sopp) as a NXT developmental trainer. Gunn has done some work with developmental talents at NXT earlier this year and it was reported after RAW 1000 that officials may bring him back as a trainer.

WWE announcer Jim Ross confirmed in his latest blog on jrsbarbq.com that Billy Gunn has been hired to the NXT/FCW Developmental staff in Florida.

"Happy (Billy Gunn) is officially a member of the training staff at NXT," wrote Ross, who works with Developmental on a regular basis. "Billy was one of the best, pure athletes that we ever had on our talent roster. Arguably, the best all around athlete we ever had. Expect huge things from WWE Talent Development in 2013."

Ross also wrote about Shawn Michaels's scheduled appearance at the NXT TV taping on January 10 at Full Sail University: "No, kids, HBK isn't going to wrestle. But it will be great to see Shawn and the athletes at NXT should be very honored to have one of the all time greats, arguably the best ever, there to help THEM get better."

Also contained in Ross's blog are his personal picks for WWE's 2012 Slammy Awards, which will be announced on Monday's Raw following the TLC PPV.
