TNA Taping Upcoming X-Division Special As Well As Tag Team Special! [Updated 1/4/13]

-- TNA's "Director of Talent Bookings and Travel" Bob Ryder posted on his Twitter account further details on the upcoming "3-Hour Specials" TNA is taping in January which we reported last week. TNA will be taping two three-hour specials with one focusing on tag team matches and the other focusing on the X Division. Ryder had this to say:

"Not much talk about it online yet, but TNA is taping original specialty programming on Jan 12, the day before Genesis. More details soon. More info on the programming being taped Jan 12 as part of the Genesis VIP Wknd. One session will feature 7 tag team matches & a gauntlet. The other session being taped on Jan 12 focuses on X Division action and will feature an X-Scape Cage match and an Ultimate X match."

TNA announced Friday full details on the matches that will make up two separate three-hour TV tapings on Saturday, January 12 in Orlando.

- Taping #1: "TNA Wrestling: X-Travaganza." This taping will feature an Ultimate X match, an Ultimate X-Scape Cage match, and other X Division-themed matches featuring current and former TNA wrestlers.

Included in the "former" category is Jerry Lynn as part of Lynn's retirement tour. Lynn will face current X Division champion Rob Van Dam at the taping. Other returning stars include Petey Williams, Amazing Red, Matt Bentley, and Jimmy Rave.

- Taping #2: "TNA Wrestling: Jokers Wild Tag Team Tournament." The BattleBowl-themed tournament will feature "teams selected at random" advancing to a 12-man Gauntlet match with the winner receiving $100,000.

Wrestlers scheduled for the tournament include Bobby Roode, Christopher Daniels, Rob Van Dam, James Storm, Samoa Joe, Joey Ryan, Jessie Godderz, Matt Morgan, Robbie E., Mr. Anderson, Robbie T, Chavo Guerrero, Hernandez, Zema Ion, and Doug Williams.

TNA is advertising that both tapings will feature main-roster TNA stars and "additional surprise guests."

The tapings are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. EST on Jan. 12 leading into the Genesis PPV on Sunday, Jan. 13.

That will be cool to see some of the former wrestlers, looking forward to seeing both specials.
