TNA announced Thursday a major shift in PPVs for 2013.
- TNA will cut back from 12 to four traditional Sunday night PPVs - Genesis on January 13, Lockdown on March 10, Slammiversary on June 9, and Bound for Glory on October 13.
- TNA will air seven taped PPV specials branded "TNA Wrestling: One Night Only" that will premiere on the first Friday of each month.
The series will debut in April 2013 and continue in the months where there is not a live, Sunday night PPV.
The first two specials taped will be the “Joker’s Wild Tag Team Tournament” and “X-travaganza” PPVs, which are set to be taped this Saturday in Orlando prior to the Genesis PPV on Sunday.
- TNA will continue producing the monthly "Unfinished Business" On-Demand series highlighting rivalries or past events.''
- TNA president Dixie Carter commented on the decision-making process: “The Pay-Per-View industry has changed so much in the last decade. The traditional Pay-Per-View wrestling model needed to evolve and we believe this strategy will positively impact not only the Pay-Per-View events but the weekly television programming as well.”

As part of TNA re-structuring their PPV model this year, TNA will raise the prices on two of their four remaining PPVs.
According to Multichannel News, which covered TNA's PPV restructuring, Slammiversary in June will be priced at $39.95. Also, Bound for Glory in October will be priced at $44.95. The other two events, Genesis on Sunday and Lockdown in March, will remain at $34.95.
The new "TNA Wrestling: One Night Only" themed events will be priced at $14.95. The new PPV series will debut in April, with future shows airing on the first Friday of each month.
Caldwell's Analysis: The PPV price increase might change some opinions on whether the new Four PPV model is a good business move. It feels like TNA is pricing themselves out of the market, especially if future PPV hype is as lackluster as it was for Genesis on Thursday's Impact. Obviously, more effort is expected for an event like Bound for Glory, but if TNA starts loading up Impact with under-hyped, devalued PPV-level matches on a weekly basis, then why would people spend $44.95 on a TNA PPV? It's a similar issue that WWE is running into trying to balance three-hour Raws and monthly PPVs.
