WWE sent out a survey to their new "WWE Fan Council" on Friday, asking respondents to evaluate their interest in "WWE TV tapings."
Specifically, WWE wanted to know fans's opinions on online spoilers from TV tapings, habits of viewing spoilers before a particular show airs, and what websites fans visit for live results/reporting on their programming.
This comes at a time when WWE began announcing major Smackdown spoilers the night of the TV tapings in an attempt to "scoop" wrestling news outlets. However, the effect is driving people to news outlets for objective views and legitimate information on the items WWE is self-spoiling.
WWE has desired for years to create a website that is a one-stop location for WWE information. Over time, WWE has gone through phases of regularly spoiling TV tapings, then ignoring TV taping results, releasing insider information, then pulling back, and delivering legitimate news, but complicating matters by mixing in storyline-driven "news."
