Of the 11 film that have won Best Animated Feature since the category was established in 2001, six have been Pixar productions, but this year the animation giant may be an underdog.

"Wreck-It Ralph"
Disney's film leads a close race with 9/5 odds. 20 out of 26 experts, five out of nine editors, and 54% of users predict it will win.

The animated comedy about a video game villain who wants to be a hero won awards from the Critics' Choice Awards, the PGA, the National Board of Review, and the Annie Awards. It was also nominated by the Golden Globes.

This is the first Oscar nomination for director Rich Moore.

"Frankenweenie"
The black-and-white, stop-motion film ranks second with 10/3 odds. Five experts, one editor, and 20% of users predict it will win.

The film tells the story of a young man who conducts an experiment to bring his dog back to life. It won Best Animated Film from Los Angeles and New York film critics. It was also nominated by Critics' Choice, BAFTA, PGA, the Golden Globes, and the Annie Awards.

This is the second Oscar nomination for director Tim Burton, who also contended in this category for "Corpse Bride" (2005).

"Brave"

The Pixar adventure film also gets 10/3 odds from predictors. One expert, three editors, and 24% of users predict it will win.

The story of a Scottish princess who rebels against her birthright won Best Animated Film from the BAFTA Awards and the Golden Globes and was also nominated by the Annie Awards, Critics' Choice Awards, and PGA Awards.

This is the first nomination for director Brenda Chapman and the second for director Mark Andrews, who was previously nominated for Best Animated Short ("One Man Band," 2005).

"ParaNorman"
The stop-motion comedy about a boy who saves his town from zombies is in fourth place with 15/2 odds. 1% of users predict it will win.

The film has received nominations from the Annie Awards, BAFTA, Critics' Choice, and PGA.

This is the first Oscar nomination for directors Sam Fell and Chris Butler.

"The Pirates! Band of Misfits"

The stop-motion comedy ranks last with 12/1 odds. Five users predict it will win.

The film, about a pirate competing for the Pirate of the Year Award, was nominated for Best Animated Film at the Annie Awards and European Film Awards.

This is the third Oscar nomination for director Peter Lord. He was previously nominated for Best Animated Short for "Adam" (1992) and "Wat's Pig" (1996).
