TNA is claiming that Knockouts champion Velvet Sky was injured during the Knockouts tag match that was taped last Thursday and aired last night on Impact.

Sky clutched her left knee mid-way through the tag match with Taryn Terrell against Gail Kim and Tara, then a TNA doctor checked on Sky after the match.

The latest edition of "TNA Reaction" shows Sky on the trainer's table being evaluated for a knee injury. She said it felt like her knee was on-fire and "felt weird."

On Twitter this week, Sky noted her knee is "very sore, but should be okay." Sky added that she's "gonna work right through the pain."

If not why would TNA have Velvet 'injured' when she is the champion?

"Dr.'s diagnosis: my kneecap popped out & popped back in. Significant swelling & fluid in the joint. MRI shows no tears or serious damage. smile

Thanks to all my #PigeonArmy peeps for ur well wishes. I'm a toughie and am healing well. Love u guys."

Sky is not expected to miss any in-ring time. For those unaware, the injury took place at the March 28th iMPACT! Wrestling taping from Jonesboro, Arkansas, which aired last Thursday night. Sky was teaming with Taryn Terrell against Gail Kim and Tara. Sky grabbed her left knee during the match and was checked out by doctors after the match.
