UPDATE : Not quite sure why – the ink mustn’t have dried yet on the deal? – but Sly has removed the tweet (below) from his Twitter.
I guess, all I can say is, watch this space… there’s something happening with Snipes but it might just not be confirmed yet.
Previously…
It’s official – by the sounds. Wesley Snipes has boarded “The Expendables 3″.
Sylvester Stallone himself revealed the news in a tweet this afternoon; the post celebrates the “Blade” actor’s recent release from prison (and assumable return to cinema) but more so, his addition to the ‘Expendables’ team.
Stallone, who worked with Snipes on “Demolition Man”, has long wanted the actor – in prison for the past couple of years for not paying his taxes – to be in an “Expendables” movie; he had offered him the role of Hale Caesar originally, a part that went to Terry Crews.
Stallone, who stars in and usually co-writes the “Expendables” films, has a huge wish-list of names for the next instalment; aside from Snipes, he’s said to be after Nicolas Cage, Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford.
Though a director has yet to be announced, Stallone asked his followers the other day what they thought of Mel Gibson directing the movie – suggesting the “Lethal Weapon” star might be in the mix to both direct and put in an appearance.
