Ivelisse Velez Addresses Her Reputation For Having "Attitude Problems" In WWE, Etc

Former WWE Tough Enough contestant Ivelisse Velez addressed her reputation for having an "attitude problem" in WWE Developmental during an exclusive interview on the Wednesday, May 15 PWTorch Livecast.

"Honestly, there's a lot of different things and elements in this business other than your ability to perform out there. No matter what I say, everyone will have their own opinion or if they want to bash me, they want to bash me. Or, if they want to say, 'Oh, she has an attitude.' But, at the end of the day, whatever I say might not change anyone's mind, but the truth is the truth. And, I know exactly what happened and obviously for professional reasons, I will not go into details about those reasons," Velez exclusively told PWTorch columnist Pat McNeill.

"I know for a fact that since the very beginning when I started my career, I have been very professional in my dealings with wrestling to the point where some people would say I have taken a lot of things that I shouldn't have," Velez continued. "But, the thing is that being a woman in the wrestling business, it's a man-dominated business. As a woman, if you are assertive, it could be taken in a negative way."

Reports were that Velez, who parted ways from WWE in August 2012, was "overly assertive," which contributed to her reputation for having an "attitude problem." Velez addressed this aspect head-on during the interview.

"Any kind of way you assert yourself as a woman or if you're strong and confident and do your job, automatically there are moments where it could be labeled something in a negative way," Velez said. "But, at least I know and I'm confident that I always strived - nobody is perfect, I can say that, nobody - to be as professional as possible. I can say for me in WWE, I did have difficulty learning about the side of politics because it is a very different, corporate world. There is a lot that you learn about how it works, especially in WWE."

"I would say that comparing my performance in the ring and my dealings backstage, I had to learn a lot in terms of politics because in business, it's such a different world," Velez continued. "There's a lot that I learned and I can confidently say that I don't necessarily have an attitude. I'm sure of myself and I defend myself when needed be, so when someone who doesn't know me wants to say that I have an attitude or someone else said I had an attitude, then so be it. But, I know and I'm confident and happy with myself that I know."

Meh...McTwiggy had attitude problems but still became one of their top divas.

so anytime I hear about some chick being fired for having 'attitude problems' I laugh.

Maybe they wanted to get rid of her before she debuted on The Main Show her attitude could of gotten worse and WWE was probably tryna doge it while they had the chance.

McTwiggy had attitude issues since way back in OVW and still wwe put her on their main roster.

I laugh at this...

I liked her a lot so I think WWE should have kept her.

Oh well it seems TNA has her so I'm sure she could do well in their company.

Didn't know McCool had attitude problems in OVW so I guess she got released for something else.
