Slammiversary XI: Gail Vs Taryn “Last Knockout Standing”

Great stipulation.

I have to say, Taryn has not dissapointed in the ring since she came to TNA. BUT her ring work has not been superb either. She is good at executing her moves but everything in between is a little iffy.

So hopefully this match shows her true colors. The fans support her, cheer her on and Gail is good in the ring.

Excited to see Gail win!!

As long as TNA doesn't come up with some stupid idea like Taryn using her flying extensions to tie Gail's feet to the ring post and she gets one over Gail...

PS: Oh wait, has Gail ever beaten Taryn in a match?

I think TNA is willing to let the knockouts take more risk but I think that is partly because TNA ain't as big a company so they don't brand as much as wwe. IE if you got companies investing millions in a diva like wwe done in the past you don't want them to get a broken nose or messed up. Good Match use for TNA to show off the talent more for division

Heard this match was a really great match

Okay! I just caught the match off of dailymotion but it had German commentary. I was really excited to watch it considering the rave reviews it has gotten! It kinda made up for the fact that Gail lost.

Or so I thought it was going to be. I felt like there just wasn't much flow to the match. The beginning of the match was really nice to see them going at each other straight away without any let up. Maybe it could have been longer, maybe it was because I wasn't watching the original one with Tazz and the other guy on commentary. Maybe I was just hoping for more, or to rephrase that, I got too much hopes for it! I just couldn't really connect with the match :/

But with that being said, I think both the ladies did really well tonight, Taryn took some pretty hard bumps and gotta give her credit for that. I'm not a fan of Taryn but that last move was crazy! And the crowd was into the match, that's always a plus! And it's nice to hear so many people praising the KOs!

But damn! Gail lost??!!!!!!!

This is soo odd, even the IWC is raving over the women's match, putting it amongst some of the top 10 matches they've seen in the last 10 years period.

Guess i really got to see this match. lol well the whole PPV got rave reviews actually.

I just saw the match it was a pretty good match I liked the part when Gail Kim got hit in the head with the chair.The Bulldog at the end was nice too.Taryn ahead a couple of weak elbows and clotheslines but it was still good.Overall The Match gets a 4/5 for me probably the best Knockkuts match of the year so far.

Taryn vs. Gail

Where do I start? I thought it was a phenomenal match. These two women really delivered more than I expected. Sure it was no technical masterpiece but there were several elements that help build this match, key moments that told a story that just slowly build towards the phenomenal ending.

First off, Gail Kim, eventhough I find her boring, proves, she needs a manager and just go out there and wrestle. She is a great athlete, never denied that fact and showed her true amazing talent tonight. Her working on Taryn’s legs, great strategy and well thought out.

Taryn, this was a match that made her, this solidifies her as one of the Knockouts, Velvet worked towards that performance, Brooke worked her way towards that level where she eventually got up there and now it was Taryn’s turn and she delivered phenomenally. I was her biggest supporter, I was underwhelmed with her performances but this match made her and officially overlaps Velvet (like Brooke did) as weakest link, where she was now not anymore.

There were key elements, starting with the crossbody chair spot, this was the first indication this wasn’t just going to be a brawl but these women were going to do a whole lot more, the crowd loved it and it was what really got the crowd going.

Then it was the figure four from Gail, doing more damage to the legs of Taryn the crowd was into it as well and loved how it looked. THEN came the crazy chair spot where, the facials from the fans were hilarious, everyone was just shocked like hell, like wtf. This is what got the crowd into the match and since the moment the crowd kept their interest.

THEN Taryn went for the figure four back on Gail was perfect timing, it was needed, the crowd loved it and it was the perfect payback for all the attacks Gail have done to her fellow knockouts. Then the two spots from Taryn on the ramp, great set up, they sounded like they hurt and it was great.
Lastly came the crazy cutter/bulldog move and well, the camera angle just made it perfect and it was amazing to see how the crowd got to their feet and was chanting, I wished they had another moment like this in the match BUT it was a great way to end the match.

So in the end, everyone complains about not enough time, this was nowhere near the 10 minute PPV matches we regularly get it was pretty average 7-8 minute stuff. But it was done right and I think even the crowd wasn’t fully supporting Taryn now see her as a legit athlete and a worthy Nr.1 contender. So the match did it job and Gail lost no credibility at all from the match. In the end, the fans now have a new respect for Taryn and TNA did a great job of working that.

So with Velvet “injured” this makes Taryn the new NR. 1 contender, so guess Mickie has a challenger we never saw her face before and once again (like brooke) I feel WWE let another Gem with personality go. They are so into investing in girls who struggle to show actual personality (Kelly & Michelle) while done right girls like Brooke and Taryn managed to gain respect from the Wrestling community in no time and not because they were pretty faces because we know TNA fans are fickle, when they tried pushing TBP as faces and Roxxi and ODB as heels the crowd turned and it was clear 40% of the crowd was still supporting Gail. So done right, Taryn, is seen in a positive light by the fans.

I feel like the only reason why The Knockouts have better matches then the Divas is simply because the Kncokouts are able to do more than the Divas Can Im Prettt sure 2 Divas like Kaitlyn and AJ can pull a match off like this one but WWE is going to hold them back from doing stuff like this.Look at Taryn she reminds me of Kelly Kelly in so many ways a cute smiley blonde but if you mess with her she would go ape shit on you and start going crazy.And also willing to take bumps in order to make a good match.I really hope Someone from WWE saw this match and see what there Divas Can Really do.
