There is a buzz around Daniel Bryan right now that suggests he may be “the guy” that the anti-Cena crowd has been waiting for. Surprisingly, that buzz hasn’t translated to Bryan’s collectibles.
Usually when a wrestler gets hot, it can be seen in his or her collectibles. When C.M. Punk unleashed his famous tirade during the Summer 2011, autographed Topps cards that had been stagnant saw a sudden upswing in popularity. And when A.J. Lee, who already had a cult-like fanboy following, became white hot last summer, her lone autograph card (at the time) was selling for more than $100.
That hasn’t happened with Bryan. His only signed cards to date are from 2011 Topps WWE Classic and 2013 Topps. The 2011 card is harder to find but still affordable. The only recent sale for this card was $27.95. Four copies of the 2012 card sold in late May, for $13.50, $15.01, $16.50, and $16.50, respectively. For such an affordable card, it’s surprising that the value of the 2012 hasn’t at least doubled. But while collectors might not be biting yet, sellers are anticipating it. The only cards currently available on eBay are listed in the $30-40 range – and sellers don’t seem to be budging on the price.
Bryan also has several relic cards from various products dating back to 2011. Most feature a swatch of gray or red t-shirt worn by Bryan and only sell for a couple dollars each. Multi-colored swatches sometimes sell for $10-12.
Bryan has had several action figures produced since Mattel released his first toy in early 2011, including several basic figures and a few Elite toys. Bryan’s first Elite toy was included in the 12th series in 2011. It originally retailed for about $16.99 and lately is selling for about $30-35. When the figure was first released, collectors in all parts of the country expressed frustration that people were tearing open the package in stores in order to steal the glossy U.S. title belt, leaving an incomplete figure.
Bryan also has a cool figure in the 19th Elite series, which has a more pronounced beard and a removable “Yes! Yes! Yes!” t-shirt. This figure is still pretty easy to find in stores for $16.99 and often can be found even cheaper online.
Fans seem to be most interested in old Ring of Honor DVDs that showcase some of Bryan’s best matches. ROH DVDs from 2006-2008 have been selling in the $30-$40 range, which is similar to what happened when Punk got hot in 2011.
Bryan’s collectibles – specifically trading cards – have a lot of room for upward mobility. It’s hard to believe his autographs aren’t already selling for at least $30. Multi-colored relic cards are also very cool and very affordable. Bryan’s action figures are another story. Mattel has cranked out so many Bryan figures that it’s hard to find one that stands out. If you’re looking for a cool toy, the Elite 19 figure with the “Yes!” shirt fits the bill. If you’re looking for an investment, you’d be better off looking for something else.

| He is a good wrestler but don't think he got a huge market for merchandise like Cena and others. He don't got what it takes to be the guy for a major company. He can be world champion and stuff. But he don't got the market for merchandise really. | |

| I don't really know the wrestling trading card market, but I had no idea that it had such a correlation to how over a superstar is.
I know select sports cards are usually worth pretty pennies, but they typically aren't the cards you'll find in supermarket booster packs. WWE is more entertainment than sport, so I can't imagine people paying top dollar for anything wrestling card related.

You would be surprised.
Cards are something a lot of people collect and some of the autos/relics for certain wrestlers can fetch quite a lot on eBay.
