SHINE Championship Tournament Bracket Revealed; Matches Set To Fill 2 Empty Spots Jazz-300x231

http://ringbellesonline.com/2013/06/10/jazz-out-of-shine-championship-tournament/

One of the women who would have likely been a favourite to win the SHINE Championship tournament at SHINE 11 on July 12 has had to bow out of the show due to ongoing injuries.

VP of Talent Relations Lexie Fyfe took to the promotion’s website to say:

I just got off of a very long and painful phone call with Jazz. Her doctor has informed her that she is indefinitely out of action due to her ongoing severe neck injuries.

She was in low spirits and very upset that she is going to have to miss the biggest night for SHINE so far.

She has promised to do all the rehab that her doctor has suggested and stated that she will be back to claim what she says is rightfully hers.

Everyone at SHINE would like to take this opportunity to thank Jazz for all that she has done for this company and would like to wish her a complete and speedy recovery.

In light of this and Allysin Kay‘s [storyline] suspension, SHINE officials will be making a statement shortly regarding the status of the SHINE championship tournament.

Jazz qualified at SHINE 9 by pinning Ivelisse Velez in her first appearance in the promotion since SHINE 5 last November where she teamed with Amazing Kong to beat Mercedes Martinez & Rain. In addition, the fact that her neck injuries are described as “ongoing” indicates that she has been fighting through the pain for a while now, and explains the former WWE Women’s Champion’s drop in performance at Girl Fight Wrestling just over a week ago. We wish her all the best as recovers, and hope that she gets a clean bill of health soon.

The withdrawal of Jazz and Allysin Kay – the latter due to being suspended for 90 days due to her interference in the Rain v Angelina Love main event last month (and you can join the campaign to have her freed by buying the t-shirt) – means that there are six assured contenders for the title. Saraya Knight, Rain, Jessicka Havok, Mia Yim, Santana Garrett and Leva Bates are all in, but who will join them? We’ll find out in due course.

Yeah I am sad she isn't going to be apart of this.

Maybe she can get a title shot later on though?

SHINE Championship Tournament Bracket Revealed; Matches Set To Fill 2 Empty Spots Shinebrackets

http://www.diva-dirt.com/2013/06/11/shine-championship-tournament-bracket-revealed-matches-set-to-fill-empty-spots/

Earlier tonight, SHINE Wrestling revealed the brackets for the upcoming SHINE Championship Tournament, as well as how the two remaining places will be filled.

The spots, empty following Jazz and Allysin Kay‘s withdrawals from the tournament, will be contested in two four-way matches featuring a number of losing competitors from previous qualifiers.

Made in Sin’s Taylor Made will attempt to avenge her partner Kay’s suspension by facing Su Yung, Mercedes Martinez and Nikki Roxx for the first spot, with the winner of that bout going on to face Rain in the first round proper.

Meanwhile, Kimberly, Angelina Love and Ivelisse will be joined in the ring by a very dangerous wildcard in none other than Amazing Kong, with the winner meeting Santana later on.

As for the rest of the brackets, Leva Bates will take on Mia Yim, while on the other side two of the most unstable and aggressive forces in women’s wrestling collide as Jessicka Havok goes one-on-one with Saraya Knight.

The tournament will take place in its entirety on the live SHINE 11 iPPV, July 12th at the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida.

I think it will either be Nikki Roxx or Rain that wins it all. I would like to see it go to Rain since she is retiring at the end of the year. This would give her the first major title of her career. All I do know is that Saraya Knight vs Jessicka Havok could be match of the night.

Yeah I think it would be nice for Rain to win since she is retiring in December and she is part of Valkyrie.

As for the winners of these two fatal 4 ways I would like it if either Mercedes or Nikki won the first one and for the second one I'd be happy with Kong, Love, or Ivelisse winning.

Should be interesting to see the results of this. smile
