After buying Lucasfilm and the "Star Wars" franchise, Disney started sending out a survey to its Disneyland annual pass holder asking them if they would be interested in visiting a "Star Wars" theme park.
That was back in March. And now comes word that Walt Disney World in Orlando is expanding its Hollywood Studios section to include "Star Wars Land." According to Theme Park Insider, Disney is already deciding which attractions to remove to make space for "Star Wars Land." Some of the attraction that may go are "The Muppets" theater and "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" play area.
"This appears to be a five-year project, putting completion in 2018, though Disney could choose to throw money at it and accelerate it by a year," said the website, adding that the park may also get a Mos Eisley Cantina restaurant.
Meanwhile, Disney is also working on adding "Cars Land" to Hollywood Studios in Orlando and figuring out ways to start adding Marvel superheroes to its theme parks.
