Will Smith Plans to Give Up Blockbusters Due to "After Earth" Failure

If Will Smith signs on for a big-budget film, he expects it to open in first place at the box office. And now that his "After Earth" movie has failed to do so, the actor is now re-thinking his entire career.

"It's been an absolute necessity that the movie be a blockbuster, but I think I'm going to start moving out of that and finding more danger in my artistic choices," he explained, hinting that he'll be sticking to independent films for a little while.

Smith added that his biggest fear has been his "movie opening at No. 2." Luckily that didn't happen. "After Earth" opening at No. 3, behind both "Fast and Furious 6" and "Now You See Me."

His problem been his movie selection really. I mean anymore it seems he only involes himself in movies with aliens or end of the world and I am tired of those movies. I mean He seems to keep trying to find Independence Day. He needs to work some comedy and stuff.

Yes he needs to get back into comedy maybe bring back the fresh prince franchise and turn it into a movie starring him and maybe his son I guess.Or Make a Bad Boys 3 with Martin lawrence.

I mean I liked him Wild West and stuff but I am Legend and stuff like that don't intrest me at all

My favorite Will Smith Movie is The Pursuit Of Happiness also the First Bad Boys Movie.I do think he makes too much scfi stuff though I haven't seen a will smith movie in years.
