Photos: First NXT Women’s Champion Crowned (SPOILERS)

Tonight at the WWE NXT tapings at Full Sail University, the first ever NXT Women’s Champion was crowned. If you do not wish to be spoiled, don’t read further!

The champion was crowned in a tournament that was spread out over weeks and featured seven matches. It culminated in a final between Emma and Paige.

According to spoilers from the event, Paige was victorious in the final match, hitting Emma with the Paige Turner and pinning her to win the NXT Women’s Title. Alongside her during her celebration was WWE COO Triple H.

WWE Hall of Famers on Twitter are all abuzz about the Divas of developmental territory, NXT, today.

As reported, the fledgling promotion crowned its first NXT Women’s Champion at its TV tapings at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida, last night and the final match in the championship tournament earned glowing praise from WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes.

Paige has not gone public online yet to talk about her title win but her mother Saraya Knight has put out a statement:

"Well, our little princess has now become the first NXT Womens Champion. I speak on behalf of the family when I say not only are we all bursting with pride but we are bouncing of the walls and doing a lap of honour around Norwich, thank you for all of you that follow her, without the fans this wouldn’t be a reality, she is proving her worth and dedication and she isn’t letting us down. CONGRATULATIONS sweetheart – you’re making waves and proving dreams can come true. I love you xxx"

So upset that Emma Lost she is clearly the best wrestler on NXT and too lose to Paige is stupid.EMMA is better than Paige.

How predictable.

First, I am EXTREMELY surprised that Summer did not make it to the finals. I fully expected it to come down to Paige & Summer in the finals.

That said, I am so happy for Emma. I have been a fan of her since 2009 when she wrestled for SHIMMER. She is such a great character and is very fluid in the ring.

But let's face it, Paige is it the "it" girl for NXT right now. She has the crowd support, she has the ring expertise, and she oozes charisma. She deserved to be the first champ, but now she need to be pulled up to the main roster.

I don't think Paige should be called up why should she? She is the top diva down there and was just crowned the champion and the Divison down there is small as it is I don't think it would be a good idea at the moment.When more girls Debut down there then maybe but honestly Shes better off in NXT.

I think in this scenario of course Paige winning was obvious but it was the right call.

Just because something is obvious doesn't mean WWE should swerve the audience.

Emma or Summer can just become the champion later on. I'm sure Paige will be called up to the main roster by the end of the year so when that happens she will most likely drop the belt and not be on NXT much at all.

I too am surprised Summer didn't make it, I expected her to cheat Paige out of the win.

Although Paige winning was predictable in the same stretch though not a bad choice for an innagural champion
