How was that Devious Maids show? I don't watch Lifetime (Television for Idiots) but I think they're really trying hard to bring in that 18-34 male demo with shows like that and The Client List.

I don't really watch novelas, but I remember seeing Jennifer Love Hewitt in lingerie in a commercial, and it almost tricked me into checking out the channel.

Actually, I did watch all of Pablo Escobar: Patron Del Mal, but I think that was more of a exaggeration of history rather than a pure novela.

Also, after years of coming to this forum, I've finally made it to 1,000 posts!

Some of them are pretty crazy. I remember seeing the first few minutes of El Rostro de la Venganza because of my DVR overrun, and thinking how it embraced every Mexican stereotype imaginable.

And thanks Mia, this is like my fifth or sixth time reaching 1,000, but it means just as much as the first time.

ABC passed on it but wanted to air it still sooo they got it to air on Lifetime because well they liked it.

Well yeah, you're a dude, so you aren't a part of their target audience.

The antagonist is almost always the boyfriend/husband/ex with the victim being the wife/girlfriend/innocent woman. The latter kills the former in the climax, possibly meets their prince charming, and lives happily ever after.

Women don't want to be reminded of their boring lives, so why would they want to watch something that is at least semi-realistic, when they can see a peer escape an abusive, cheating husband and retain custody of her children while renewing her love life?

Sounds like a Tyler Perry Movie.I really Hate Tyler Perry's Movies there all so generic EVERY movie he has Theres always some abusive husband in it.Hello Your A Fuckin Guy why can't you make movies for guys?? Tyler Perry=Lifetime.

He's basically an African-American version of Lifetime. Perry produces as Urban Dictionary put it: "shows with characters who perpetuate the notion and/or stereotype that African Americans are loud, rambunctious, classless, and uneducated people who lack long-term goals, as well as a serious view on life."

I feel like as an African American he Doesn't really show African Americans in the right way I never had an aunt/grandma like madea and they look ratchet as hell.Not everyone has that Crazy Grandma. Can you picture him ever doing a gangster type movie? Because I sure as hell can't.

He'll never step out of his element, because it would expose him as the fraud he is. There's a reason why his movies don't do well internationally, because he relies only on the American black community for his profits.

I would love to be a director in the future and create movies that everyone can relate too I really really would love to have that its my dream job.
