Hello, and welcome to The Weakest Link!

You all know me as VLG, I was the admittedly lacklustre host of Survivor, but I hope my hosting abilities will have improved sufficiently for this particular game.

Now then, its time to introduce the eleven participants! All of them are longstanding members of the forum, including some returning faces. Here they are:

This game will boil down to two people at the end of it. The Strongest Link in each round will be safe, the remaining competitors shall be at risk of being The Weakest Link in that round and leaving the game. The first two people eliminated will be gone from the game. The remaining seven who don't make it to the Final shall be members of the Jury.

I would like to make it explicitly clear that this is an individual game. I would like to hope that you all play the game yourself, do not confer and do not look up the answers. I would also appreciate if there were no arranged alliances in this game. I also ask that you attempt each quiz once and then send in your score. In the interest of fairness, please follow these rules.

First challenge will be issue on Monday.

Although as four people have still failed to submit, I'm trying to decide what to do. Do I eliminate the four who haven't submitted and continue as normal? Do I cancel the game due to lack of interest? Do I be generous and let the missing four have more time?

As tempted as I am to cancel the game, as I'm a bit annoyed that FOUR people still havent submitted a score after being given a second chance, I won't. I'm going to be generous, and give those four another chance. Any who don't submit will find themselves eliminated.

I don't understand how people take so long to do a 2 minute survey!?

I can see people waiting a couple days but these long deadlines just enable procrastination.

If people don't have 2-10? minutes *IDK how long they will get* to do a survey then they should not have sign up for this game.

Still missing two people who are now eliminated. As they are being eliminated I will not post results (unless you guys desperately want to see them) and will issue a new challenge sometime this weekend.

Just a forewarning though, the three who missed the original deadline, you guys have one chance left. If you miss a deadline without giving me prior warning, you will be eliminated. Everyone else, if you miss a deadline I'll register you with no score. Miss a deadline again and you will be eliminated.

Now then, new challenge will be issued this weekend.

X sent me some evidence that confirmed he had sent a score in, I just did not receive it. As a result, I am letting him back in, meaning only pokemon fan was eliminated from the first round.

Can I just iterate something before people get confused. My comment about the map app solely meant that after spending a year playing that app has helped me to remember countries, more over countries that aren't as well known like some of the African and Asian countries. I did NOT use it to get answers, I was simply making a comment that it should come in useful for my memory, I don't want people to think I have not been playing fair, I took one shot at this and did not use any form of technological aid. I hope everyone can appreciate this, as I can appreciate that my comment could be misunderstood.

Last semester I had a geography class and we had like 7 map quizzes so that should help me out.

Africa, South America, and Europe/Middle East were ones I did really well on.

Ironically I sucked on the US/Canada one. Probably since it was the first one and I was too confident/didn't study much..

I'll probably send in my score later on tonight. I'm going to stay on here a little while longer and then play Skyrim so it will be after that.

I believe Scotland came under United Kingdom...which is a bit stupid since Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are in fact seperate countries.

I am with you on the spelling and stuff though...especially when trying to spell stuff like Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan and well....all the stans shifty

LL, for clarification, Wales is actually not officially a country (regardless of what the Welsh say) and is actually a Principality. Northern Ireland, Scotland and England are countries, however The United Kingdom is also a country and takes place ahead of the individual countries.

It would make sense if Ireland wasn't a country, but on this thing it is. And since when is there 197 countries? Thought there were only 156?

Its a country on this X because Ireland is a country. Northern Ireland is considered part of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland is not, so they are seen as seperate.

Well, the deadline is now an hour past and I am missing two scores. One of these people failed to submit at the first deadline in the last round, so has now been eliminated.

Well this is obviously a popularity contest, considering I was tied second score with Silva and had a better score than most contestants. Even more discouraging when I get voted out for someone who didn't even submit a score. If I knew it was that easy to get through, wouldn't have even bothered.
