WWE Insider Leaking Pay-Per-View Spoilers Online?

- Deadspin has an article up today about a Reddit user who has correctly predicted the results of WWE Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania 29, Extreme Rules, Payback and Money in the Bank.

There has been talk on wrestling message boards about the user for a few months now with fans speculating that he works for WWE. The user, Dolphins1925, claims that he doesn't work for WWE but gets inside information from someone in the know. Apparently they're looking to expose leaks within WWE management and embarrass them.

The other talk online is that some fans have taken advantage of the spoilers and started to bet on the match outcomes, as more online betting sites are allowing bets on WWE. Before last night's Money in the Bank pay-per-view, odds for Damien Sandow winning the ladder match on one betting site went up out of nowhere.

Update: Deadspin.com published a statement from WWE reacting to and downplaying the story: "We may have a modern day Nostradamus on our hands. We might have to monitor these posts in advance of our next pay-per-view to see how good he or she really is."

Deadspin.com published a story on Monday about a Reddit user who has leaked the results of WWE PPV matches this year.

The user, identified as Dolphins1925, accurately predicted the results of each match on the Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania, Extreme Rules, Payback, and last night's Money in the Bank PPVs, prompting questions about where the person is getting information.

The Reddit user claims to not work for WWE, but claims to be "getting information from a source who has VERY credible inside information regarding the outcomes of the matches themselves." The person's stated motivation is wanting to expose leaks in WWE management.

From a fan's perspective, by revealing the match results shortly before each PPV, Dolphins1925 wants to indirectly force WWE to tighten up access to information in order to protect the integrity of the product.

Deadspin's article also examines how the leaks can affect wagering, especially as more betting websites venture into setting betting lines on pre-determined wrestling matches.
