"American Dad" is making a big move -- to TBS.

The cable television channel has picked up the Emmy-nominated animated comedy for a 15-episode eleventh season, set to debut in 2014.

“'American Dad' is a great fit for TBS, a favorite of comedy fans who like smart, irreverent humor with ample doses of biting wit and skewering satire,” Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming Seth MacFarlane and the rest of his team as they bring this iconic show to TBS.”

Twentieth Century Fox Television‘s "American Dad" -- MacFarlane's only animated series to never suffer a cancellation -- follows staunch GOP supporter and CIA agent Stan Smith (voiced by MacFarlane) and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, VA.

“'American Dad' is a brilliantly inventive series, and TBS’s desire to platform new episodes demonstrates the enduring power of great and compelling content,” Twentieth Century Fox TV Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden said in a statement. “Seth, [and co-creators] Mike [Barker] and Matt [Weitzman] have created an incredibly rich world of unique characters, and we couldn’t be happier that they will be able to continue to tell their trademark brand of subversive, hilarious stories to their millions of fans.”

TBS's sister network Adult Swim is set to air encore presentations of each "American Dad" Season 11 episode after initial airings.

TBS and Adult Swim are no strangers to the Seth MacFarlane universe, currently airing reruns of "American Dad" and "Family Guy" throughout their lineups. TBS airs "American Dad" reruns weekdays at 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. ET and Adult Swim also airs reruns of the show Tuesday through Friday at 10 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday at 10:30 p.m. ET and Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. ET.

"American Dad" will begin its 10th season on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox. The show will move to TBS for Season 11 in 2014.

I Never Liked This Show I just don't really care for this show the characters never are all pretty meh to me I think Seth needs to just stick to family guy either that or just add this family to the family guy cast in the future.

TBS has a decent selection of syndicated sitcoms, but their "new" programming is usually rehashed stuff that doesn't work in the new environment. Notice that people don't really talk about George Lopez, Conan, or any TBS original programming.

This is TBS's second Pick up, after they picked up Cougar Town last season. Rid themselves of Tyler Perry (thank lord cheesus) and picked up two decent summer comedies (Men at Work & Sullivan & Son) with these four scripted series, you got to wonder if TBS is expanding their comedy variety, they are still VERY dependant on Big bang and Family Guy repeats, but could their 4 comedies establish themselsves as comedy hard hitters.

Also odd Fox is getting rid of American Dad, since it was their third highest animated Series, with Family Guy aging, The Simpsons (Supposidly) going into it's final season and Bob's Burgers not being this big rating succes. Is Fox dropping their animation domination all together? They've tried bringing in new animated series. Dropped the lowest rated one (The cleveland show, maybe BET might pick it up) they might be getting rid of it all together. Now i'm curious

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they do with Animation Domination. FOX can't rely on MacFarlane and the Simpsons forever, and they really can't seem to pick a decent animated sitcom if they tried.

Well the picked up The Cleveland Show in 2009, though that ended in 2013. They got Bob's Burgers in 2010, though not the big ratings success, it managed to mesh well with the line up and was a real critical success compared to the McFarline comedies. In 2011 they got gready and tried both Allen Gregory and Napoleon Dynamite...by January Bob's Burgers was ready for it's return because both failed to attract an audience. or well keep an Audience leading out of The Simpsons.

so 2012 they call it quits and went on with their 5 established ones and dropped the weakest link (The Cleveland Show)

This year, it's Murder Police, I hope for them, they find another hit animated Series with 2 leaving next season (The Simpsons & American Dad)
