Riddick, Universal’s R-rated sequel to Pitch Black, is coming in just over a weeks, and no one is happier to see it get here than its star and producer, Vin Diesel.
While a studio is releasing the film, it was financed independently. And Diesel had to put a lot on the line (financing wasn’t easy to come by after Chronicles Of Riddick underperformed) to make it happen. He tells THR, “I had to leverage my house. If we didn’t finish the film, I would be homeless.” While I imagine he has enough Fast And Furious cash coming in to buy a brand new house in case that whole thing didn’t work out, there’s no denying his dedication to the role. The dude worked HARD to make this happen.
David Twohy directs the film in theaters September 6th. It stars Karl Urban, Nolan Funk, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk, and Keri Hilson.
