Main Event Spoilers 1/8/14

(1) Real Americans (Antonio Cesaro & Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter) beat R-Truth & Xavier Woods (w/Funkadactyls). Truth got the crowd fully behind him with his usual "What's Up" schtick. Real Americans were able to get good heat despite "We the People" being over with the vocal males. After a back and forth match, Fandango's music hit and out he came with Summer Rae. This distracted Xavier long enough for Cesaro to hit his super uppercut for the victory. Good match. Cesaro is impressive with his power offense live.

(2) Alberto Del Rio beat Justin Gabriel. Little to no reaction for either man. Boring match as few people are invested in Gabriel to this day. Del Rio worked the mic after winning by pinfall with one of his many kicks, running down the city of Philadelphia. He called us filthy animals. Eh.

(3) WWE tag champions The Rhodes Brothers beat 3MB (Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal). Heath Slater worked commentary. Excellent tag match ending with the Disaster Kick for the pinfall on Mahal. Goldust did most of the work in the match. Both Goldust and Cody are incredibly over.

(4) Divas champion A.J. Lee beat Kaitlyn to retain the Divas Title. A.J. countered a powerslam with a roll-up to retain the Divas Title. Clunky at times. Virtually no rule-breaking from the heel champion and no interference from Tamina. Mid-way through the match, the crowd broke into a "Let's Go A.J." chant.

Afterward, A.J. gave Kaitlyn one of her usual full body hugs (wrapping legs around Kaitlyn's waist), only for Kaitlyn to be surprised with a superkick from A.J.'s bodyguard, Tamina.
