WWE Live house show results
January 12, 2014
White Plains, N.Y.
Report by Dan Goldman, PWTorch correspondent

4:52 p.m.: Preshow promos for the 20th anniversary Raw DVD and one for WrestleMania XXX. Those were followed by an Emma video package promo, an ad for the WWE Network, and an Alexander Rusev promo. The arena was about two-thirds-full at show time.

5:02 p.m.: opening with the National Anthem. The Steel cage was already set up above the ring.

Fandango's music starts. He enters with Summer Rae to some decent heat and dances around the ring. R-Truth's music hits and the crowd is into the "What's up" chants. I think R-Truth is lip-syncing except for the hook. Impromptu dances off starts. Before the match Fandango draws heat from the crowd teasing as he takes off his vest. Truth gets attacked after some "What's Up?" chants to get the crowd hyped.

(1) R-Truth beat Fandango (w/Summer Rae) at 7:06. Small chants for Summer Rae break out briefly. Decent opening match.

Alexander Rusev's music hits to some crowd confusion even though they showed his promo earlier. His ring speech gets a lot of "What?" chants. He does a great Iron Sheik/Nikolai Voloff-type opening and draws some "U-S-A!" chants. Justin Gabriel enters next. His hair is up in a weird Samurai-like ponytail that makes him look like a rooster.

(2) Alexander Rusev submitted Justin Gabriel to the Camel Clutch at 5:39.

Next, a Triple threat match for the IC belt is announced. Damien Sandow's music hits first to a mix of cheers and then mostly boos. He cuts a promo calling the people half-wits and declaring himself a future IC champion. He gives the crowd a second chance and himself a second entrance to even louder boos. Biggest heat so far! Next was Jack Swagger to more boos. No Antonio Cesaro in sight. Big E. enters to a decent pop. Swagger draws heat from the ringside crowd before the match.

(3) IC champion Big E. Langston beat Jack Swagger and Damien Sandow in a three-way match to retain the Intercontinental Title. The heels double-team Langston at the beginning of the match, but Langston comes back to Cheers of "Big E." The heels try a double-suplex, but Big E. reverses. Sandow gets dumped out of the ring and Swagger goes to work on Big E.'s ankle. Swagger tells the already quiet crowd to "shut up," drawing boos. Then, Sandow and Swagger take turns breaking up each other's pin attempts. After fighting with each other, Big E. knocks them both down with a series of clotheslines. Swagger gets dumped outside, but he comes back in with an attempted sunset flip on Sandow. Big E. takes the opportunity to turn it know a slingshot with Swagger's head low-blowing Sandow. Big E. then hits his finisher on Sandow and covers for the pin and the win.

Promo for the VIP experience, then tag team Divas match is next. Divas champion A.J. Lee enters with Tamina. She's getting more cheers than boos in my section. Emma and Natalya enter next.

(4) Natalya & Emma beat Divas champion A.J. Lee & Tamina Snuka. Mid-match, Natty starts an "Emma" chant while Tamina works her over. Emma seems to be losing some hair in the corner. If she has a hairpiece in, it's holding on for dear life! Natty attempts a Sharpshooter, but gets kicked in the stomach by Tamina. Emma comes in and takes out Tamina allowing Nattie to lock in the Sharpshooter for the win.

Tag team contest is announced. The Usos come out to a large pop but no pyro. The music cuts and the lights go out and when they come back up, the Wyatts are already in the ring attacking.

(5) The Usos beat The Wyatts (Luke Harper & Erick Rowan) at 10:15. Very fun match with a lot of back and forth. Eventually the Usos get Harper alone in the ring and after a series of superkicks, he's on the ground. Big splash from the top rope and that was all she wrote.

[Intermission]

Back from the break, The Miz enters. He's facing "Bad News" Barrett, who asks for decorum and cuts a decent heel promo. Miz gets on the mic and says we're in the heart of the U.S.A. and Barrett should go back across the pond. Miz draws the crowd support with "U-S-A!" chant.

(6) Wade Barrett beat The Miz. Miz applies the Figure-four Leglock, but Barrett escapes and gets Miz down for the pin.

The steel cage comes down next, followed by a video recap of the history of the Bryan-Wyatt feud. Bray comes out wearing his brown butcher's smock and introduces Bryan. Biggest pop of the night so far. The crowd is still with him, but not like before. Loud "Yes!" chants at the beginning, but Bray talks over the "Dan-iel Bry-an" chants.

(7) Bray Wyatt beat Daniel Bryan in a steel cage match. At the start, Bray tells Bryan to lay down and accept defeat in the ring tonight. Loud "No!" chants erupt. Bryan looks at the crowd and feigns laying down in the center of the ring. Bryan attacks Bray to loud "Yes!" chants and repeated knees to Wyatt in the corner. Loud "Daniel Bryan" chants ring out and the crowd hits the "Yes!" chant to go along with Bryan's kicks to a kneeling Bray. After a kick to the head, Harper and Rowan enter the cage. The crowd starts cheering for C.M. Punk. The Wyatts gang up on Bryan and Bray gets the pin less than three minutes after the action begins.

Post-match, The Usos run in to make the save, but Bryan attacks The Usos from behind. Bray looks creepily at Daniel as he does the Sister Abigail to one of the Usos. The Wyatts then hug and exit while the Usos's sell until the music ends. Decent story-telling all around.

Another WWE Network promo. The announcer calls the WWE Network "historic" before going into the "Thank Yous" to the crowd for tonight.

The Main Event is up next. C.M. Punk is out first followed by The Shield through the crowd. (There was a scene at ringside involving cops at the start of the match. The wrestlers seem oblivious, but it is a small venue, so the crowd notices. Medical staff attends to someone in the front row and continue to work at ringside leading into the match.

(8) C.M. Punk beat The Shield (U.S. champion Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns) at 21:41 in a three-on-one handicap match. The crowd got back into the match when Reigns tagged in. Reigns misses a splash in the corner and Punk rolls him up for a two count. Reigns recovers and gets Punk in a bear hug and tags in Rollins. Punk reverses a suplex from Rollins into a small package for a two count. Reigns tags back in and measures Punk for a superman punch, but misses. Punk goes on the offensive going punch for punch with Roman in the center of the ring. After landing a superman punch, Reigns tries to draw heat, but Punk hits him and knocks him outside the ring. Ambrose enters and Punk hits him with a series of kicks. Rollins enters and Punk dumps him outside and hits him with a suicide dive.

Back in the ring, Punk hits a double neckbreaker on Ambrose and Rollins and gets Ambrose up for a GTS before Rollins breaks it up. Rollins goes up top and hits a cross-body block, but Punk uses the momentum to roll into an Anaconda Vice. Ambrose breaks it up and starts working on Punk in the corner. Punk signals to the crowd for the elbow, but Rollins dumps him off the top turnbuckle. As Punk gets Ambrose up for the GTS, Reigns goes for the spear. Punk dumps Ambrose out and kicks Reigns, then dumps Rollins over the top rope and gets Ambrose back up for the GTS for the win.

Post-match, Punk goes around the ring after the match and celebrates with the crowd. He may be getting tired of the road schedule, but Punk made it seem like he loves to perform! No return date was announced.

Biggest Pops:

- C.M. Punk
- Daniel Bryan
- The Usos

Biggest Heat:
- Wyatt Family
- The Shield
- Damien Sandow
