According to Variety, Sam Worthington has signed on to join Charlize Theron for The Tourist, a remake of the 2005 French thriller Anthony Zimmer. Worthington steps into the role of an American tourist used as a pawn in a female Interpol agent’s attempt to find a criminal. The part was originally intended for Tom Cruise, who seriously considered the project before dropping out in favor of a James Mangold-directed action comedy.
