Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio are teaming up to bring Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World to the big screen, The Hollywood Reporter reports. Scott will produce and direct the Universal project, and DiCaprio plans to produce and star.
Farhad Safinia, who wrote Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto, will begin work on the script soon. Sources say the project is still at the development stage. DiCaprio’s Appian Way (which is producing with Scott’s Scott Free) has rights to the 1931 novel, which Scott has long admired. Huxley’s dystopian classic is set in a 26th-century world with a caste system.
