Billy Ray Cyrus spoke to Access Hollywood about his daughter Miley Cyrus’ provocative, poll-dancing performance at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this month, telling the entertainment show, “You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing [and] songwriting.” At the Aug. 10 awards show, Cyrus’ 16-year-old daughter danced with a metal pole attached to the top of an ice cream cart pushed by her backup dancers and, subsequently, the criticism from the blogosphere flooded in. Continued Billy Ray to Access: “I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion.”
