Dixie Carter’s WWE-esque Mandate: Looking for ‘Models’

Much like WWE’s hiring process, sources reveal to me that TNA too, is now looking to hire more model-like women. The mandate was laid down by TNA President, Dixie Carter herself.

Carter is said to be only interested in hiring ‘beautiful women’, though thankfully for fans — ones that can actually wrestle.

One source tells me: “She [Dixie] wants beautiful women who can wrestle.”

As we’ve reported, TNA is close to clinching a deal with former Diva, Kristal Marshall and also spoken internally about Candice Michelle.

With Dixie wielding more power than ever after benching TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, it wouldn’t be surprising if the company and ultimately, it’s television output, was moulded more in Carter’s image. TNA is looking to hire more new Knockouts in the near future, it was reported earlier this week.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with that per se but in a division that has always been celebrated for it’s unique appeal, it seems a step back and almost hypocritical. If we take a look at the roster, some of their most popular Knockouts aren’t exactly conventional beauties i.e. Awesome Kong, ODB and others.

Jeff Jarret needs to take his company back, thats all I gotta say. He needs to FIGHT for it.

Dixie is starting to annoy me.

I think the KO divison is doing just fine, they dont need "models". Not having "models" but having girls who have different looks is what sets them apart, I think that is what helped the ratings. imo.

They also need to use the KOs they already got. I will be for them hiring Kristal I think she will do great as Bobby's manager. I think Candice will be a good KO but they need to use the others right first.

isnt the appeal of TNA KOs is that they aren't models, but good wrestlers? Dixie is screwing things up.

yes but isnt she after ones that can wrestle though
some of the knockouts could be models, and they can wrestle to
so its not like shes doing a knockout search
she just wants a wrestler who can move magazines

their current KOs can move magazines just fine. Christy has done Playboy already. She's definitely marketable. As is Tara and soon Kristal as well if she comes to TNA.

I dont think they need any women who are models first, wrestlers second.

I think its good they got some who can be "models" and others who are strictly for wrestling, who may not be "models". It reminds me of how WWE was back in 99-2004. Its good they got a flavor for everyone.

I dont get why Dixie is trying to ruin a good thing.

my understanding here is their looking for pretty wrestlers, thats it the pretty ones, that can wrestle. not what wwe does who hires pretty women then pretend they can wrestler, there is a big difference

Yea but there are some not so pretty girls that can wrestle and should be in TNA YESTERDAY! (Mercedes Martinez, Sara Del Ray, Daizee Haze, Mschif) come to mind. Granted I personally dont find any of them ugly but to the average fan, they might be. I dont know what model looking girls they can get. Jennifer Blake? She's pretty why not hire her? She can definitely wrestle. Candice Michelle is almost a given at this point, so much reports. It's like I will see her soon in TNA. All these hirings mean TNA is up to something.

A-She is a former Women's Champion(TNA would love to have 2 former champs on there roster)
B-She has a fanbase
C-Go Daddy can be great for TNA, More exposure
D-She is decent and not as bad as ppl make her out to be.

Fuck she is way above Maria, Kelly Kelly, Eve, Layla, The Bella's, Tiffany, Rosa Mendes, Velvet Sky, Rhaka Khan, Christy Hemme in terms of wrestling ability.

If anything Candice is grouped with ODB, Sojo Bolt, Madison Rayne, Maryse and Alicia Fox while the rest who have not been mentioned are the true wrestlers.

and I have read a few times that TNA is looking to hire more ladies in the next few months...we might be getting a KO-only show like it's rumored.

also with the TNA KO tag titles...it'd be good for them to hire actual KO tag teams rather than slapping two chicks together for the sake of a match.

Why not Hire Krissy Vaine & Amber O'Neal?? Good Looking, good wrestlers. Lacey, resign Rain. Two tag teams in one shot.

Why not Hire Alexa Thacther, she was hot. Lacey Von Erich looks Amazing, she's still wrestling, don't think she's great, but atleast still wrestling. Becky Bayless is stunning. Hire her but please not Candice Michelle, i will just stop, seriously, she'll get injured working with Kong, Melissa, Hamada & Sarita. She's lucky she doesn't have to work with Jacqueline, she'll really hurt her.

Dammit, please don't sign Candice Michelle, i'll just stop watching wrestling as whole tbh.

There are rumors that they might sign krissy and amber but it all depends on krissy, she said she doesnt want to work that many days, seing how angelina was always busy.

Lacey wont sign cause of the way they treated Austin so rain would be pointless unless they have her with the other girl in the home wreckin crew.

Von Erich is still with wrestleious. Alexa would be a good choice though, pair her up with cherry bomb or kelly couture and ud have a dream team.

hhmm Rain and Jetta?? Dunno, not a huge fan of Jetta.

Madison Eagles and Jessie McKay would be an awesome team to sign.
