Director Michael Bay makes it official on his blog “Shoot for the Edit” that the next iteration of Transformers will bow on the July 4th holiday weekend of 2011. He adds that screenwriter Ehren Kruger has a great story and the two filmmakers are on their way to Rhode Island to meet with Hasbro about new characters. He concludes with a snarky message to his heroine Megan Fox: “I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture.”
