Stone Cold Clarifies His Alicia Fox & Melina Comment on Tough Enough

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin took to his Twitter page to assert that he meant no disrespect to Alicia Fox and Melina during the premiere of Tough Enough this past week.

After contestant Ariane Andrew told Austin that her favorite match was Alicia vs Melina, he proceeded to say: “Who?” before asking her why of all the matches in the history of WWE she chose that one.

Austin tweeted: “et me bottom line something right now–i meant no disrespect to Melina or Alicia on TE. both women are class acts and hard workers. cheers.”

Thoughts: Personally, I didn’t take it as a slight when he said ‘Who?’ I don’t think he meant it as in he didn’t know who they were and snubbed them, but rather he was taken aback/surprised by her choice of match — as were many of the viewers.

CM Punk can't go around and twitter calling John Cena the shitty wrestler that he is. It;s the same Tara complimenting ISis after word got out the ladies refused to work with her. They need to keep the publicity good.

and i agreed with him on TE. Melina vs Alicia? really? i mean if you want to pick a good diva's match, choose something involving a good technician like Molly..

i also agree with Kevin. Austin, WWE and TE all need good publicity so that's the only reason he felt the need to 'clarify'. TE airs on Monday and it's now wednesday so i'll bet many people made some remarks about what Austin said, thus making him feel he better 'clear the air' so that there are no problems later.

I don't think it was so much taking back what he said , more clarifying further. My reaction would have been exactly the same . Alicia/Melina wouldn't even make the top 1000 of all matches in the WWE of all time. Even if you've only been into watching wrestling in the last 2-3 years, there's so many more candidates, it's laughable .

she's most likely talking about the SummerSlam match and that was one of the worst diva matches in history. their one where Melina returned was fine and their one on Superstars was good too, i won't talk about the shitty rematch Alicia got, but none of their matches would make my list for greatest of all time if i were picking diva matches. she probably hasn't even seen the match but just picked it because Alicia's sister is one of the contestants so she knows the name
