Emmys 2011: Who Should Win Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series?

Will Jane Lynch have to take a break from Emmy hosting duties to give an acceptance speech as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series? Only time will tell. But it’s interesting to note that in three of the last four years, the statuette has been taken home by a scene-stealing funny lady from a lower-profile series: My Name Is Earl‘s Jaime Pressly, Samantha Who?‘s Jean Smart, and Pushing Daisies‘ Kristin Chenoweth. And that might bode well for five-time Emmy winner Betty White, nominated for TVLand’s Hot in Cleveland.

Lynch and White will face stiff competition from a pair of Modern Family mamas, a versatile SNL comedienne, and a loopy 30 Rock star — all of whom have been nominated in this category at least once before, without a single win to their credit.

What would you do if you had the power to send one of these fine actresses to the podium when the Emmys are handed out Sept.18?
