She was out with an injury.

I think maryse is done with wrestling she gets injured alot and maybe she just dosent wanna wrestle anymore.Rember when she first got injured when she was divas champ thats when her wrestling skills went down.

I would've liked to see Maryse get a face turn she was a good character, but wrestling wise won't miss her.

I heard some rumor mills say she and the miz bought a house together and she is settling down with him soon. I heard Miz was gonna be at the party cause they are dating.

I find it amusing how relieved so many people are once they leave that place.

for those wondering her last match was the tag match with Melina on Raw with all the lesbian stuff going on. her last singles match was against Beth Phoenix on Superstars

I liked Maryse and thought she was one of the interesting and unique divas on the roster. I think she'll probably carry on with the modelling and leave wrestling behind. Being off injured has probably made her realise how hectic the schedule is and what a relief it was to be off from it

Hes talking about the tag match on raw melina and maryse vs eve and kelly they were all doing something lesbianish in the match it was pretty funny match.Maryse and kelly were stink facing each other.They were some more things but I forgot what it was.

Well, she was one of the Diva Search girls. Remember why they were signed in the first place, what Diva Search was about...

They had success with Sable and Chyna posing for Playboy, and both the company and magazine wanted to do more. Trish said "No," so Torrie did it, instead. The next year, Trish still refused, as did the other top Diva, Lita (who was out with a neck injury the previous year), and Stacy, so Torrie and Sable posed again.

But, they couldn't just have Torrie pose every year. If Trish, Lita, and Stacy weren't going to cooperate, they needed girls who would. So: DIVA SEARCH! Sign a ton of models who would pose for Playboy. Being a Playboy model type became the top priority for what Johnny Ace looked for.

But then came PG, and cutting ties to Playboy. Where did this leave the Divas who were there specifically as the potential Playboy model pool?

While Maryse was out, she was bound to have noticed who was getting TV time and being the centers of the storylines: Beth, Natalya, AJ, Kaitlyn, Maxine... The emphasis had changed from the pure Eye Candy. Except for Kelly and Vickie, you had to have in ring skills to get on TV. Now, you had to be able to hang in the ring with AJ, Kaitlyn, & Maxine.

The writing was on the wall. Maryse can't hang in the ring with those three. Note that, in their Twitter rants, Nikki Bella and Rosa were bashing the NXT 5 (AJ, Kaitlyn, Maxine, Aksana, Naomi). Were they trying to set up storyline feuds with the NXT 5, or was it genuine hostility?

Funniest thing I've read all day.

If you'll notice, the Eye Candy with the most in ring ability, Eve & Alicia, are the ones besides Kelly getting on TV.

And yes, AJ, Kaitlyn, and Maxine are better in ring than most of the veteran Eye Candy like Kelly, the Bellas, Rosa, and (yes) Maryse.

If you'd read the post before firing off an angry response, you'd understand. Let me repeat, and please read this time before responding...

Diva Search happened because, except for Torrie, the top Divas (Trish, Lita, Stacy) wouldn't pose for the annual Playboy issue. As they couldn't have Torrie do it three years in a row, they needed Divas who would. Signing all those girls for Diva Search insured they'd have a pool of girls willing to pose for the Playboy tie in. That's why Johnny Ace was looking specifically for "Playboy model types."

Note that every Diva that did Playboy from then on was from Diva Search. That's what Diva Search was there for.

Now, do I really have to explain what the shift to PG and breaking ties to Playboy means for the girls signed specifically with posing for Playboy in mind? Look at the timeline...

Shift to PG: 2008

Breaking ties to Playboy: Late 2008, and a sudden decision given that they'd been talking about Kelly posing for the 2009 issue.

AJ Lee: Signed 2009

Aksana: Signed 2009

Maxine: Signed 2009

Naomi: Signed 2009

Tamina: Signed 2009

Kaitlyn: Signed 2010

Raquel: Signed 2010

Ties to Playboy are broken, and we see a shift back to mostly fitness models and women with wrestling backgrounds like in the pre-Diva Seach days. In the meantime, we've got girls hired to possibly be in a magazine that's no longer an option, and with the PG format, that can't even do the sexy Eye Candy stuff that Sunny, Sable, Miss Kitty, and Dawn Marie specialized in, like bikini contests and lingerie pillow fights.

If wrestling is all that's left for the Divas, where does that leave the ones who can't?

Notice AJ, Kaitlyn, Maxine, and Aksana have gotten a lot more broadcast time than anyone that isn't Beth, Nattie, Kelly, and Eve the last few months, though Alicia is finally back in the picture.

And now there's a space open for Naomi or Raquel...

They might be slightly better, but the collective group still leaves a lot to be desired.

Their faults? No. But, don't want watch their shitty matches while they learn on the fly.
