Well, it was more a team than an individual Champion, but that would be LayCool.

actually, Layla whooped Kelly's ass in ECW. Did it on a weekly basis in fact.

Actually your wrong because last time I checked Kelly won all of her matches on ECW except for 1.

All I remember about their ECW fued was Kelly using to a bodyslam.

I wouldn't say it's Layla's fault though. Her matches are good - ten times better than anything Kelly Kelly ever produced - but she just has no character anymore.

In that way I think the WWE creative team are idiots. They knew Layla was well over with the crowd when she was part of LayCool and getting the in-ring/backstage segments, and the only divas who are over at the moment are Eve, Vickie and AJ, ie the ones that are getting the storylines and character development.

Layla is trying to get over as a face in these matches but to me it makes no sense and is completely forced. She's returned with a new bland character with no explanation for it. I just can't understand how the divas champion and the division can be disregarded in this way when it is clear from the likes of Eve and AJ that it is possible for them to become key additions to the roster.

I would much prefer seeing Layla in backstage rows and segments with another diva week after week rather than technically-sound-but-boring matches; at least then we'd get some personality! Amy Weber and Joy Giovanni's feud had me more gripped than Layla's current reign.
