September 14th: The first leg of the “Final Countdown Tour” is complete, and the fans of Philadelphia were incredible! A huge ‘thank you’ to each and every fan that made last Thursday and Friday night one for the memory banks as both Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness said their ROH goodbyes to the City of Brotherly Love. September 14th: BREAKING NEWS: Nigel McGuinness will be a part of this Saturday’s “Final Countdown Tour” event in Chicago ! Originally unavailable for the date, McGuinness and ROH officials have been in touch over the last 72 hours, and Nigel has agreed to be on hand to address the ROH faithful one last time in the Windy City. And while Nigel won’t wrestle, we are happy to announce that both McGuinness and Danielson will be available for autographs at intermission and commemorative 8x10 photos of both ROH legends will be available at the merchandise stand. We’d like to wish a grateful thank you to Nigel for being available one last time to the fans of Chicago!
September 14th: In addition to the signing in Chicago Ridge, the ROH fans attending the Dayton live event on Friday night September 18th will also get the opportunity to say goodbye to Bryan Danielson as we will hold a special autograph meet & greet session for "The American Dragon". September 14th: ROH World Champion Austin Aries sent a very stark and devious message to Tyler Black last Friday night in Philadelphia. Black, out of action after complications from his recent neck surgery, was on-hand and took exception to Aries and his “Lucky Lottery”. Black came to the ring to call Aries’ drawing a sham, much like Bryan Danielson did at the August tapings. Aries, uncharacteristically, offered to let Black draw the name from the hat himself. Black=2 0pulled the slip of paper, unfolded it, and then to the surprise of no one, revealed the paper to be blank. Just as Tyler started to expose Aries, ‘A Double’ lit the paper and a fireball engulfed Tyler’s upper chest, neck, and face. Referees and medical personnel were quick to respond, and Tyler is now home in Iowa convalescing. As a result of this attack and his neck issues, Tyler Black is now listed as OUT for this weekends events in Dayton, OH and Chicago, IL.
September 14th: The injury bug has also bitten elsewhere as Erick Stevens was injured during a match in Germany, and is now listed as OUT for Dayton and Chicago. He is having his injured knee evaluated this week, and we will have updates going forward as we receive updates on his condition. ROH officials are working to reshuffle the cards for Dayton and Chicago to account for the unfortunate injuries to Erick Stevens and Tyler Black, and we’ll have card updates as the week goes on.
September 14th: The first change for this weekend is a huge one. When the Glory By Honor VIII card was adjusted to allow one more encounter between Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness, ROH World Champion Austin Aries thought he was getting out of having to put the title on the line one last time against the “American Dragon”. But as they say, the karma train always rolls around, and it is ro lling straight at A Double. As a result of his fireball attack on Tyler Black in Philadelphia, Danielson was seemingly left without an opponent in his final ROH match in Chicago. Until now. ROH officials spoke with Petey Williams earlier today and he’s agreed to step aside for now. Newly signed for this Saturday night in the Windy City, it will be Austin Aries defending the ROH World Title against Bryan Danielson! Can Dragon walk out of Chicago the ROH World Champion? September 14th: As announced this morning on the ROHWrestling.com main page (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2980), KENTA is signed and will appear as part of the final ROH on HDNet National Television tapings for 2009 on November 5th and 6th in Philadelphia, and on November 7th when ROH returns to Edison, NJ! Couple this with his already scheduled appearances in suburban Detroit on November 13th and just outside of Toronto on November 14th, and it looks like November might as well be “KENTA Month”!
