Atlanta Wants Wrestlemania
The city of Atlanta wants Wrestlemania to come to town.
City officials have made an official bid with WWE to bring Wrestlemania 27 to Atlanta. The gigantic Georgia Dome, which was the largest domed structure in the world for a period of time, is being used as bait. The 17 year old building is capable of holding over 70,000 fans; the venue is where WCW had their largest crowd ever during the nWo heydays.
Atlanta is also hoping to strike a deal to bring Wrestlemania to the city every 4 to 6 years.
WWE has never held a Wrestlemania in Atlanta, which for years was known as home to WCW. During the days when the NWA/WCW and WWE/WWF were in serious competition, the southeastern states were considered hostile territory for Vince McMahon and friends.
With the amount of revenue that Wrestlemania has brought to host cities over the last few years, a lot of people from the major cities are campaigning to host the event.
New Divas Shirt
WWE has produced a divas shirt for all of the female wrestling fans out there.

Undertaker Wins World Title
The Undertaker is the World Heavywweight Champion again after beating CM Punk at the Hell in a Cell pay per view.
Undertaker Wins World Title The Undertaker is no stranger to being the world champion. He's no stranger to being in the Hell in a Cell either. He's also no stranger to being on top of the ladder in WWE. However, very few people expected the Undertaker to win the World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell. It's not that the Undertaker isn't a credible wrestler to carry the title. Even at 44 years of age, he's still more credible than the majority of the roster. No, the reason why people didn't think that he was going to be given the World Heavyweight Championship is because of his health. With that in mind, WWE decided to shock the wrestling world by putting the strap on the big man. CM Punk was able to survive the Last Ride, but the chokeslam and the Tombstone Piledriver were too much for the Straight Edge Superstar to overcome.
Health Issues Now that he has the World Heavyweight Championship, all eyes will be on him to see just how long WWE allows him to hold on to the title. It's a well known fact that the Undertaker's body has been suffering from age and years of wear and tear from his 25 years in the business. In fact, he recently was given some time off of the road by WWE so that he can heal up. At the Breaking Point pay per view, it was clearly evident that the Undertaker was a step slow in his match against CM Punk. Reports had surfaced that he struggled heavily afterwards because his body was just so banged up. The belief is that the Undertaker will still be working a limited schedule. If the Undertaker is unable to carry a full load, then WWE may not have a choice but to put the title on to someoen else that can.
CM Punked Probably the biggest concern coming from this title switch is how it is going to affect CM Punk. The former Ring of Honor and TNA star had been rapidly moving up the WWE ladder. After a successful stint as the ECW Heavyweight Champion, the company escalated him to a higher spot on the card. He was actually gaining quite a bit of momentum over the last few months. He also gained quite a bit of credibility by feuding with Jeff Hardy and the Undertaker over the belt. Without the belt, though, he loses quite a bit of the momentum that he had built up. With the Undertaker viewed as one of the most dominating wrestlers around, CM Punk just does not have the same credibility as a challenger than he did as a champion. A heel champion can always be booked to have the advantage because of the character being allowed to cheat. Cheating to retain the title is a lot easier to envision than cheating to win the title.
McMahon Spending Millions
Linda McMahon has always said that she was serious about her political career, and she's proving it.
The former CEO of WWE has reportedly spent over a million dollars on her campaign to become a senator. McMahon is a Republican candidate representing the state of Connecticut. She will be running against Democratic Senator Christopher Dodd in 2010.
Not only has she spent $1 million on her pursuit of a spot on the Senate, McMahon also reportedly has approximately $30 million in reserve so that she can spend on the campaign as needed.
When McMahon decided to pursue a career in politics, a decision was made in WWE to make the company a lot more family friendly. The decision to do that was to make sure that opponents would not be able to utilize that against McMahon and her character. There are already experts that are predicting that WWE's previous history as a lewd company will come back to haunt McMahon a bit.
WWE Disappointed With Summerslam
Officials within the WWE corporate office are said to be highly disappointed with the Summerslam pay per view.
Earlier this year, the company made the decision to put more of a focus on Summerslam. WWE wanted to make Summerslam as big of a pay per view as Wrestlemania is. While the company wasn't foolishly expecting that to happen immediately, there were still high hopes for the event.
Early reports have shown that Summerslam was not able to draw more than 400,000 buys. With the added marketing efforts, that is considered quite a disappointment. Last year's event was able to draw over 500,000. The company was hoping to surpass last year's event.

Sunny Blasts Von Erich
Lacey Von Erich recently made her debut in TNA, and there's a former WWE diva that is not at all happy about it.
Tammy Lynn Sytch, formerly known as Sunny during her days in WWE, made several comments through her official Facebook account in regards to the 3rd generation wrestler.
It wasn't pretty.
Sytch basically trashed Von Erich's debut appearance in TNA. She also criticized the granddaughter of the legendary Fritz Von Erich for not being good enough with the in-ring stuff. Sytch also takes a shot at TNA for not staying true to their reputation of hiring female employees that can truly work.
In a rather disgusting display of disrespect, Sytch also referred to Von Erich's father (Kerry Von Erich) as a suicidal drug addict.

| Sunny sounds bitter and jealous.
WM in ATL would be nice. I'd probably try to ask my aunt in ATL to buy me some tickets.
grats to Taker
I like TNA's KO shirt better. WWE doesnt even seem to try with their merchandise. They just throw some design on fabric and toss it out there like "w/e, buy our crap!" | |
